Selling/Returning Xbox Series S

I bought a XBOX series S from JB Hi-Fi, but after a day I realised I am not really a gamer (guess i was sucked in by the Cyberpunk hype).

I called up JB Hi-Fi to see if I could return it, but they said they could not return opened consoles.

What would be the best way to sell the console or if there might be a way to even return it. What would you guys recommend. I am not looking to make a profit. I've never sold anything really especially something worth 500 bucks so was just looking for some advice.

if there might be a way to even return it

And would JB sell it as new?

        sell it as new

But it isn't new…you can see that, right?

        • in before "his username checks out" comments..

      • No they don't.

Any returned/change of mind items have a green sticker pasted on front explaining why/what happened to the item and a decent discount is applied in order to sell the item. This is company policy.

Exactly, I have a mate that works at JB and I have bought quite a few returns such as a Apple Watch series 2 42mm for $189 and it had the green label on it which was a steal of a deal at the time (over a year ago)

Pop it up on FB Marketplace or something similar and mention this story. I'm sure someone will snap up your asking price. I work at a competing retailer and we do not return consoles "just because I changed my mind" either.

Put it on Facebook Marketplace and/or gumtree for RRP and you will sell it in no time

Gumtree, Facebook. Cash only. Pick up only.

    • Good advice.
OP should provide the receipt to the buyer.
Meet in a bank and do the transaction.
State this in the listing, keep the scammers away.
