Best time to buy a laptop

Hi,

I am looking to buy a laptop. Shall I go for a deal that is available now, or will there be better deals closer to christmas, like between 20th - 26th. Or will there be good boxing day deals.

I am looking for a Toshiba or a Asus laptop with a dedicated Graphics card.
A basic model with the above config seems to be between $650-$750. So, am thinking I should wait.

Appreciate your inputs.

Thank You.

  • From experience, there will be lots of sales all the way from boxing day until the end of January. However with computers, the pricing is changing all the time and there are different sales every other week so I don't think there's really a "best time to buy".

However the older models usually come down in price when they are about to be replaced. Laptops for example, the next wave will be when Ivy Bridge is released. All major vendors will release new models and the old ones will drop their price considerably. Maybe early next year?

    • Thanks Scotty for the inputs…. I will wait and watch with eagle eyes… :)

    should just get a mac.

    • and whats the reasoning behind your stupid advice?

      • you can run XP and OSX on a macbook

        • Macs are bit too pricy for my. Also, not a big fan of apple ecosystem. Love their iphones… have it for 4 years. But would love to stick to windows… Change is not something I like much…
