Anytime Fitness Home Gym Policy

Hi Ozbargainers :)

Does anyone know how to prevent your 'Anytime Fitness Home branch' to be changed to another AF branch?

My current home branch rate is much cheaper but I started going to another branch more often (2x week on home gym and 3-4 times a week on another branch). I am worried that I'll get charged much higher fee when my 'home gym' changes to a newer one.

'Membership Transfer and Assignment of this Agreement: As a broad rule, if you use another Club more than our Club'

I am aware of their policy. Would scanning your fob key couple of times within minutes on your home gym prevent that?

Thanks guys.

You guys are awesome đź‘Ś

LoL I thought you meant your own 'home gym'

    • Sorry. I'll edit the comment now

  • Just scan your fob at your home branch but don’t workout?

    • Would it count as 3 if I scan it 3 times a day on my home branch?

      • I genuinely don’t know but you can try it. Maybe scan it hours apart though, like morning and night. If you do it within 90 mins of itself it’ll probably think it’s an accident.

My home branch changed but I managed to maintain my foundation member rate from the first gym I joined. Not sure if this will be the same for yourself, but it was also my concern initially.

    • Same for me. Signed up at new gym with foundation rate and have changed home gym couple times over the years. My fee has never changed.

Might be worth calling HQ to confirm whether they change rates?

      • They said it's all upto your newer branch. They can decide whether they honor the previous home branch fee or not :(

Must be a decent amount of money to make it worth going to the home gym just to scan your fob.

I didn’t realise Anytime charged different rates at different gyms. I wonder what’s the cheapest ones to join in Syd & Melb

Same here until recently. Go online, choose different branch and see their fee :)
