What Adhesive to Use to Stick Plastic Sign to Wooden Fence?

Hi ozbargainers,

I am looking to stick a small plastic sign to my wooden fence. I don't want to use nails what do you suggest for a adhesive to adhere the sign to a outdoor wooden fence that would withstand outdoor weather?

Thanks in advance.

    • Yep. Liquid Nails (or roof and gutter silicone as 2nd best)

"tradiesunited" user name doesn't check out.

A tradie would know it’s a timber fence not wooden.

    What does the sign say?

"Do not nail signs to this fence"

  • Duct tape

If you want to ever remove this sign, nails or screws will be way better…..

  • I found with this that the trick is to press the sign lightly while the product cures or sets.
Lots of these require some air for it to happen properly, so if you press too hard or clamp too hard, you get a less good result.

Nails or screws make damage that is a lot easier to fix than big gobs of glue. Also make the sign a lot easier to remove should you change your mind.

Liquid nails or silicone will work but are a pain when it comes time to remove the sign.

  • If it's a picket fence, how about using some U Bolts? You'll have a few nuts sticking out of the sign, but if placed correctly they may not be too distracting & the sign will stay up for ages.
