And pause button to ask "WTF just happened?!"

        wore mine out

      • +14

And a rewind button so that you can watch it backwards, which will actually be watching it forwards!

    • +16

Finally be able to understand the drowned out dialogue. Couldn’t make half of it out in the cinema thanks to the bloody score 🙄

      • +2

glad I'm not the only one!

      • +1

I went to see it when it came out in the cinemas and even though I am not a native English speaker, I do understand it very well. However, I always see movies with English subtitles/captions because I want to catch all the dialogue/plot and not miss a thing. With Tenet, it was no different and the staff (as always) thought I was deaf when I asked for the caption device! I was able to follow the movie until half of it…then the batteries on the device died! :)

      • Ye, I thought my hearing degraded because of old age…

    • +1

Nolan's gunning for Best Picture Oscar à la foreign language film Parasite.

    • +3

They don't really help, pretty mediocre movie regardless.

      • +1

Subtitles still needed in the 4K Blu-Ray, most scenes I needed them, but tried to not use it. It's not that hard to comprehend the movie. Just lazy writing where all exposition scenes are just told while people are sitting or standing. The scene in the airport hangar was predictable and I'm sure most people guessed what was goin on before the they redid the scene again later in the movie. Unlikeable characters, poor writing, average acting. I'm a Nolan fan but this didn't work for me. He seems to be getting worse with each movie.

        • I always use subs, so hard for me to comment.

This movie reminds me of cloud Atlas, so much hype, but just didn't work in the end.

  • Legend, thanks

  • A bit long, but good.

  • +7

A movie you need to watch at least twice

    • +24

      Or watch backwards

      • Which then leads to watching it forwards but then you get pincered within a larger pincer move that is within another one - wait - sounds like being in a matrix within a matrix within a matrix, and then another matrix is born coming our way soon!

    • +1

Someon explained it to me pls

      • +5

Someone has explained it to you or someone will explain it to you.? I can't tell, feels backwards.

        • +13

Someone already did, he just doesn't know it

    • +5

I need to be fully awake and actually use my brain to somewhat understand this movie. So it's a pass for me. Now if you excuse me I'm going to go watch Jack and Jill.

  • +1

If you preordered from Amazon, you can message them an ask for the cheaper price. I did and they gave me the $5 back.

    • of all the movies to get a retrospective sale credit for, this seems most appropriate

  • So besides the mixing issues is this movie worth buying or is it crap?

    • +3

It was the Cyberpunk of 2020…after experiencing it, you want your money back…

    • +1

No mixing issues. That’s how Nolan rolls…

    • +20

Not as good as inception, but still worth watching and forming your own opinion. It's still a lot better and more original than the other crap in the market

    • +4

The concept is good but plenty or pot holes just like any time travel movie.

Not his best imo, interstellar was better or his older movies

    • i think they fixed the mixing issue on the home release

  • +2

    C'mon 2 for $40

    • Man can hope , 2 for $15

  • Bad n boring movie

  • +1

You can watch this movie just listening to the audio without watching the video - it will make just as much sense imo

  • +2

Seems big W is the Bluray and 4k Blu-ray disc version, so better than the Amazon option which is only a 4k Bluray disc

    • are you sure? Aren't they the same?

    • +2

The Amazon listing title says “Tenet (4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray)” so I think we’re good.

      • +1

Oh you're right, I completely missed that just looked at the cover art! Yeah ignore my comment then

  • +2

Dude imagine primer but with action sequences!

    • +1

      Timelapse is good too.

      • Awesome, hadn’t heard of that one, love a smart time travel movie

        • +1

You should check the tv series Dark on Netflix. The most coherent time travel story I have seen in years.

    • +1

      Save 30k$, hijack a Kia :)

    • +1

You meant go for pirated movies?

    • Yes the 4k hdr dts-ma rip looks and sounds the goods, watched it 2nd time and finally understood it

    • -1

      Bl00dy thief

  • +5

I love Nolan but this is absolute, pretentious tosh.

  • +3

    shit movie

    • +1

      Agreed. So confusing

  • +3

Big Nolan fan but this one will drop like a rock. I'll pick it up when it's $13

  • +8

    User unfriendly movie

  • +5

    Watching this now. 3rd time.
Also read about it. Like it a lot more now. Amazing concept.

    His weakest film tho

  • +2

Most confusing movie of the year

  • +2

This deal hasn’t been posted yet

  • -1

    Don't bother, crap movie.

  • +1

Time to inverse my bluray player, the true protagonist.

    • +1

At least give him a name!

  • +2

To make any sense of this movie you need to make use of something called a temporal pincer viewing. You watch it once going forward in time and once going backwards. Then just read some online forums which explain the plot.

    • you will need a masters in physics to understand this movie

      • +5

Close, you just need to understand the colour shifting concept of faster than light (time) travel.

When you observe light (or any wave) from a source that travels towards you, its wavelengths are shortened, and therefore it looks more blue-ish (closer towards the violet end of the electromagnetic spectrum). Conversely, when a source moves away from you, the light you receive is red-shifted. This is the Doppler Effect for light and the same thing happens for sound: you can easily distinguish the different sounds between a train coming towards you or moving away from you, since you observe the noise as having a different pitch as the sound waves are being compressed (higher pitch) or lengthened (lower pitch).

Now notice in the movie when there is a red hue or blue hue on the screen, or the dress is either red or blue, or the red & blue arm bands, … determines whether the event is going forward in time or backwards in time.

        • +1

Wow, that's a really nice touch. Using the red and blue to determine whether they are going forward or backward.

I love when they put these little things like this, that sometimes go unnoticed but blow your mind when you find them. Nice find dude.

  • +4

yeah its not Nolan's best movie but the bromance between JDW and Robert got me, especially the ending. When you watch it again, you realize how Neil knows the favorite drink for the protagonist. Watched it in theatres, it was quite a good feeling going there after months of suffering in 'lockdown'

    • +1

Thats why this movie is a great blu ray purchase. Its got so many things I didnt catch in the first viewing and the more I watched it, the more things tied together

  • +1

this movie is a mind F#ck. even after watching an explained video on YouTube i still don't get it

  • Well to sum it up. After watching it the 2nd and 3rd time. I am going to watch it for the first time tonight….

  • +1

    I heard it’s a yawn fest

  • Sorry noob question… can you play 4k UHD + Blu Ray on a blu-ray player?

    • +1

Bluray players will only play bluray disc.
      4K players will play both.

    • +1

You can play the included blu-ray disc on a standard player.

But you will need a 4K blu ray player to play the 4K UHD disc

  • -6

not a deal, why pay if you can download it for free

    • +8

Why is there a need for this website then? I can shoplift everything posted here.

  • watch the first half and get your other half to watch the movie backwards from the end. You'll come to conclusion by the time you're both finished.

  • -1

Why so many plus votes? $30 is average …

    • +2

      Yet. You. Did.

      • Oh retracted.

  • This movie might make more sense if it were watched while being intoxicated.

    • I went there after the xmas work party, the pre drinks just made everything even harder to understand, the loud ambient noise and bass thumbing didn't help either.

  • From all the movie descriptions flying around here, this looks and sounds like from a Mulholland Drive school of movies but more action oriented and has less provocative scenes or just as equal though, maybe, but from watching Nolan's previous films i e. Memento, Interstellar, Inception, The Prestige, etc. it'd be the former?

  • +2

    Well, it's about time.

  • +1

Very disappointing for Nolan or I'm just too dumb to understand it. Took me 3 goes to get through it. Felt a bit like a Bond movie in parts. Don't know I could be bothered with the online explanations?!

    • Very hit and miss it seems.

I love the science themes and I got it on the first go and preempted things but the missus thought it was her least favourite.

      Each to their own!

  • +1

2 to 5 weeks delivery from Amazon. Arrives between 4th December and 13th November.

    • -1

      4th December 2021 and 13th November 2022? Haha

  • Can anyone recommend a good Bluray player? Are they all the same as long as you have the connections you need? Eg. Optical or HDMI

    • For a 4k player this is a good deal direct from Sony if you don't mind refurbished.

I bought one and its like brand new, plays bluray and 4k bluray plus big benefit if you have new TV this does Dolby Vision.

I would post as official deal but its only 6 in stock.

    • Xbox last gen were decent

  • +2

watched it last night at hoyts… had no effing idea what was going on half of the time. And the ending only help abit… the bass was so strong I got a headache half way through.

  • +1

Fantastic film, thoroughly enjoyed it at the cinema. I walked out questioning my life and what reality we're living in.

  • +1

A solid 5/10 movie. Though it's probably better with subtitles

  • Is it pronounced Tenet, ƚɘnɘT, ⊥өuөʇ, Tɘnɘƚ or teneT?

  • tHe mAiN ChAraCtRE DeOSn'T hAvE A nAmE 10/10 genius

  • I paid $10 for the movie ticket and got a surprisingly deep personal message first time.

Not sure if $30 for a Bluray is essential or considered "value" in comparison.

The volume mix on dialogue/soundtrack/effects could have been better, but it was solid Nolan story-telling…
