Been waiting for a price drop on Hades. Think it's time to bite the bullet as I'm not confident it will go down much further on the eshop anytime soon.

      Amazing game, worth every dollar

      • Is it worth getting on Switch? Or would it be better to get this on PC instead?

        • +1

I played through it on switch, enjoyed every minute but there was occasional slow down. Not enough to annoy me personally and I think I'm pretty fussy.

          • @crazyhor77: Alright, sold. I think the portable nature would make me play it more on Switch anyway over the Xmas break. Slowdowns don't bother me as much on Switch games vs PC/console.

            • +2

@ozb88: it has cross save feature. So if you regret buying it on SWITCH, you can pick up the PC version in the future (during sales), and not have to start from scratch.

              • @ctan7: @ctan7 this is good to know, thank you.

        • I find the gun and bow much more effective with KB + mouse, but I use a controller with the other weapons. It's certainly still playable however. They also just added cross-save support for people who own it on both.

  • Yep, just pulled the deal on Hades, set for holidays - Covid permitting

Taiko pricing is pretty awesome - I can finally use my Hori Taiko drums! :)

    • +4

Did you have a drum but no game? The drums are pretty expensive to have on hand without the game.

      • +1

My Hori Taiko drum just arrived a few days from that play-asia deal posted on ozb. This is very timely! I also have the drum but no game…yet.

      • +1

Yups same as Deeeno, mines has been laying around for a couple of weeks from the PlayAsia deal. I didn't want to cough up the usual RRP of the digital or a used physical copy from EB Games and was waiting for Boxing Day sales.

        • Same. Got the drum on the sale and been waiting for the game.

    • Gutted I missed the eb clearance on the physical copies of this game.. maybe I'll just settle for digital. I had a lot of fun with the demo.

Can't recommend Slay The Spire enough. I think I've spent more time playing that than any other game this year. Picked it up in disc in an EB sale for $10, ended up buying a digital copy later just because I got sick of having to keep putting the disc in so often.

    • So much replay value!

  • Wow! 30$ for Hades. I love it.

  • +1

Overcooked is at 17$ :) I've finally got it on my switch.

  • Anyone have Worms WMD? is it worth getting on the Switch?

    • +3

I bought it following a bout of nostalgia for the old worms game. It's pretty good but honestly I've barely played it. Might be good for some multiplayer action.

      • +1

Yeah just need to satisfy some rascals for a few hrs when they come over. Cheers At that price i bought it anyway

Can recommend Taiko no Tatsujin and Golf Story, great games

  • +1

Playing Taiko in a Japanese arcade with real drums is the bomb. I don’t think the controller offers the same experience.

  • Is there a way to "gift" these games? My nephew is getting a switch for his birthday and was hoping to add some games as a pressie

    • +1

No. You need an account that has been created on the switch first.

    • +1

Frustrating thing about Sony and Nintendo. I'd love to gift games as gifts, but they don't offer gifting. Xbox allows gifting though.

  • Is there a way to get the games without a switch? Would love to get taiko now for when I go get one

    • Not possible unless you already have an account

  • Playing Taiko with the official drums is awesome fun but do people find most of the songs on Hard mode insanely difficult, or is it just me :( I wish there was a practice mode, most of the time I'm too busy trying not to miss to actually "learn" the rhythm.
And people on Youtube make it seem so easy…

    • Seems to be the trend in Japanese rhythm games where the difficulty jump is massive between normal and hard.

  • So many good options here. I can recommend Golf Story—it’s a fun sports game with some amusing writing. Aussie developer too, I think.

  • +1

Warning amount of Taiko no Tatsujin has extensive DLC.
You will probably end up spending more money since base game songs are mostly lame and many reused from previous games.

  • Is there big default song library in Taiko No Tatsujin?

A quick looks show's there's heaps of paid DLC for songs. Hoping to not have to spend a heap of $ to get songs if there arent many free ones.

  • Hades is $10 cheaper from Epic…hmm but I prefer the portability… decisions….

  • +1

DRAGON BALL FIGHTERZ - Ultimate Edition runs OK on Switch?

    • +1

Bought during this deal, battle is smooth, can’t feel any lag.

      • Thanks. Will get it. Hopefully the 3rd party Smash Bros controller works!
