Think I might pull the trigger here, lauded by many as GOTY, and hadn't really seen anything else compelling to use the $15 voucher for.
Also my old GTX760 sneaks in as "Recommended or better" so this should perform well.

    Thanks OP!

    Awesome game, very recommended.

How good is the music in the game too! Voice acting top notch. So polished.

  • +2

So the game has a RRP of $35.95
    Apply the $15 coupon and it’s $20.95

So the coupon is the deal
    Which has already been posted

True, but also like the ebay 20% off deals mean little to me until someone posts something I want under the deal.
I think the votes here show it's worth highlighting individual items under said deal.

    Great game. Definitely worth it.

I recommend PC if you have one that's decent enough (shouldn't need great specs)- potential for high framerate, choice of M&K vs controller (there are pros and cons for both) and it gets balance patches far earlier than Switch (though sometimes things get nerfed so I guess there's pros and cons to that as well)

    • Second the recommendation for PC.

Not that it's particularly demanding on computing power, but high frames are a night-and-day difference of playing. Sometimes there are many dozens of moving enemies and projectiles, in which proficiency at dodging and taking minimal to no damage is the key to success, so buttery smooth action is the way you want to play it and the most satisfying in doing well.

I used cross-saves to go between a desktop (Red Devil 5700 XT) and a laptop (i7/2060 with 120Hz), and, although minor, I could pick up on a small difference in smoothness of the action, and that's for a laptop that was probably not lagging far behind the desktop, at least in average frames, but less so for the odd period of frame drops.

I understand the appeal of Switch, though. You'll still have a blast, don't sweat the decision.

      • Speaking of cross saves, Switch and PC both share that feature now. Can play on PC and then continue your save on Switch and visa-versa

Very good game for the price. Must buy.

Bezt game :). Awesome for this price. Go for it if you don't have that !

  • +1

Do play on PC if you have the option - its a game that benefits from high frame rates.

This game is SO GOOD! At this price it's a no brainer. It's massively addictive, and I've personally sunk over 100 hours into it since buying it on Switch just 2 months ago. I think it would be better on controller because it benefits greatly from auto aim, but I can see how the freedom of M&K would be beneficial as well. The amount of things you can do is just endless…and when you finish all the scripted content, you can always go for a world record speedrun!

This looks very anime / indie compared to AAA Fallen Jedi at the same price…

    • +5

An infinitely better game than Fallen Order though, like they aren't even in the same ballpark

Really? I probably need to look at reviews. Just first impressions of mine that the production values seems low on this.

        • +10

The production values are actually insane, the most visually and stylistically impressive Supergiant game yet

      • Yeah, nah

    • -1

I have it. Definitely an indie game. It's good if you like diablo. Personally i never got into dungeon crawlers

    • +1

Hades is an amazing game. Easily Game of the Year. However it is a very different game to those big EA action RPGs games with expensive cut scenes and realistic environments. Hades is an isometric roguelike and super addictive with huge replay value. Dialogue and story is pared back and the dungeon aspect takes main stage.

Supergiant Games is an indie developer and Hades is unlikely to have the same budget as EA. But the game mechanics are awesome, has unique artstyle and music, and production value is amazing. It is not a comparable product though.

This game is awesome! Thoroughly recommend

Also on sale for switch atm

  • I have an overseas epic games account. Can get this for about $12 there but cannot apply coupon so that's just the regular price (cheaper on steam ~$11). Keen to jump on it seeing all the positive comments for this game.

  • +1

    Games good, pretentious but good

  • Paid for the switch one. Haven't tried it yet.

  • -5

Can get this for 15 bucks on steam. Hardly a bargain.

    • Is that with a VPN or something?

    • Pray tell?

      • Philippines steam store pricing.

    • +1

I don't think comparing it to VPN shenanigans is far

      • -4

If there is a game I want on steam. I just messenger a relative back home and get them to gift it to me. Transferwise to their bank account and save more money. It's retailing for 549 pesos so…

        • +6

That's even less relevant then lol

  • "I am currently contemplating whether I should buy this game on PC or Nintendo Switch"

If it helps you can get it on switch for almost this price:

10% zip pay + 10% eshop credit (jb hifi boxing day) + $30 eshop card = $24.30 on switch

  • Cross-saves also possible between Switch and PC

So is the game on sale before the coupon? Or you're just posting an RRP game with the coupon that can be used on anything? You're going to have a busy afternoon if you remain consistent and post for every other game on Epic hahaha

    • It’s not on sale.
The coupon is the deal which has already been posted.

      Prepare to be downvoted though.
Lysander and his crew always happy to push up their post numbers posting RRP games with coupon savings as deals.

  • Can you play this coop?

    • Nah no co-op, single player only.

  • +1

    Got it on switch

  • +2

Great game, was a bit worried that the game would be too difficult to be enjoyable, but found with a little practice I was able to consistently finish runs.

  • Awesome game. 80hrs on switch, and I still randomly pick it up.

  • Fantastic game. So happy that cross save is finally out.
    Buy on both!

  • I guess I'm one of the few who doesn't love it. I like roguelikes, and this one is fine. But I wouldn't put it anywhere near my game of the year.

There's a good ongoing documentary on youtube about the development of it it which might give you a bit more appreciation for the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzyE9hi912c

    • What would be your game of the year if you don't mind me asking?

      • +1

Either Crusader Kings III or Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Microsoft Flight Simulator, and the ever unpopular The Last of Us 2 are right up there as well. Not finished Cyberpunk, but even though it's still a buggy mess it will make my top 5 unless the ending is a disaster.

Hades would probably be just below those.

Edit: Deep Rock Galactic would slide into the top 3.

  • Or Hades on Switch $30?

    • Prefer to play on the go honestly though switch is just 60fps and 720p, where pc can get over 9000 fps.

      • Wow 9000 fps!!!
Also the graphics on PC would be much better? 720p vs 1080p?

        • the "over 9000" is a joke. But as far as I know, PC can run hades with 1440p or even 4k too. And yes PC is a lot better in terms of graphical performance. But I find myself play on the switch more.
