$897 HP Pavilion DV7-6120TX- 17.3inch, i7 2670QM (2.2GHz), ATI 2GB DDR5 Graphics Card, 4GB RAM, 500 GB HDD from HN

110

The 17.3 inch screen, 2gb ddr5 graphics card and a i7 2670qm are the main plus points and the 4gb ram and the dvd burner are the let downs. However its fairly cheap and easy to upgrade the ram nowadays. So if you're looking for a powerful 17 inch laptop its pretty good.

  • looks perfect for me but too bad my 2 years old duo cores still works fine :(

    • I know even my 6-7 yrs old DELL inspiron 6400 (Core2Duo) is still working fine… :)
But I'm looking for an upgrade now…

  • This is good price for spec. But not sure how is the build quality.

    • from what i can tell, its got a good metal cover for the lid and the around the keyboard with a hard plastic bottom to prevent heat from going into your lap. i have a similar model and it seems to have a pretty decent build quality.

  • +1

    Hardly Normal. Good price.

  • $40ish more for another stick of 4gb ram makes this pretty damn tempting as a desktop replacement..

  • wat about all the heat issues with HP??? Are they resolved with this model??

    • i have a similar model but with 8gb ram and 15.6 inch screen and i've had no heat problems at all. Though when i started to play Skyrim on high/ultra settings (which is nice thing to be able to do) it got a fair bit hot on the top left side but when i turned on my 3year old notebook cooler there was no problem what so ever. The fan in this laptop is quite decent, its very quite when you do normal daily things but can easily go full power and blast a decent amount of air when required. I tested it with one of my old Command and Conquer games and it didn't even need to turn the fan into full power.

  • Yeah i own a DV7-6111TX and it's amazing! no heat issues or anything

  • 17.3 inch for this price? wow.. great valuee!!

  • Expired, back to $1299.

  • I refuse to get another HP notebook after they refused warranty on video problem everyone had.
