"Modern Tech". Using a 2 generation old Qualcomm 2100 chipset, it's pretty clunky these days comparitively

  • Reviews don't seem great but keep in mind most people probably paid $300+ for it.

    • Yes, and the battery is not so great, needs charging everyday. But for the price of $149 no complaint.

Bought for 159 last fossil sale. Sold on gumtree the day after. It's horrid to use.

Avoid. unless you want a dumbwatch that requires charging daily.
wait, this is even worst than a dumbwatch, it can barely run the stopwatch without crashing…

I've had one (the stainless smoke version) for a while. It's obviously dated compared to current smart watches. Pretty slow…I'd recommend the Gen 5 if you can afford it but if you just want a cheap watch that looks ok and has some smart functionality, it's not bad for $150.

I'll also say it's only meant to be splash proof but I have swam and showered plenty of times with mine on.
No issues with the battery for me, I don't sleep with watches on so that's when it's charging. I'm up from 4am-10pm most days and it lasts that fine, otherwise a 15 min quick charge top up when I'm getting ready to go out will give quite a few more hours usage.

Edit - another note, turn the "ask google" stuff off as that slows it down a heap and you can still acces it with a button press rather than it constantly using memory to keep it running in the background. And I have the wake gesture turned off but screen always on which seems best for battery life and still retaining functionality.

  • Was $399 when?

I got the slightly newer Fossil Sport (Snapdragon 3100) for less, and was very disappointed.
I believe the newer Gen 5 with 1GB is better.

For the budget, look at a Samsung or used Apple watch (if you have iPhone) instead. Or just get a cheaper Chinese watch with notifications.

Don't waste your money. I had one for a while and barely used it because the battery life was so ridiculously short. And by short I mean a couple of hours, max. It was also very slow, unresponsive, and the heartrate feature never worked.

  • Good deal if you can play the long game. Buy this now then wait for the charging rings to fall off and swap it for latest gen 5 at a fossil store

  • Does it have "Untethered GPS" though?
