Best LED Flood Light

Hi all, recently there are some low lives snooping around my neighborhood. The cameras caught some images, but not clear due to low light.

So what's the brightest flood light you came across in the local market? I have a sensor already. Just need the floodlight to be connected to it. in WA. TIA

Hands down these: https://reductionrevolution.com.au/products/philips-led-floo… only ever used the 50w as they were bright enough for my application (exterior commercial wall lighting)

Have you considered an IR light rather than a floodlight?

    • Thanks for the recommendation. Just thought bright light will scare them off.

Those 200W will be like lighting up a stadium lol

  • Not sure how to share link, but someone posted really good offer just before couple of hours..

    • I don't need sensor, those with built on sensor tend to fail easier in my experience

  • If you want to blind them permanently, get one of these Philip’s LED flood lights that push out 162,000 lumen - https://www.lighting.philips.com.au/prof/outdoor-luminaires/…

If the light above is a bit extreme, grab yourself one of these - https://www.lighting.philips.com.au/prof/outdoor-luminaires/…

I’ve got both the 30W (2,600 lumen) and 50W (4,300 lumen) lights out the front of our place that turn night into day for my CCTV cameras. I’ve tried cheaper LED lights from Ebay, Bunnings etc but they didn’t last long due to moisture getting in or they were badly rusted/corroded. Also the sensors get destroyed by the sun in no time. A separate Clipsal sensor is the way to go - https://www.clipsal.com/products/detail?CatNo=750WPR&itemno=…

Edited - didn't notice the first comment also recommending these lights. You get what you pay for. These are high quality lights. Also the lumen figure quoted for most the cheap lights are complete BS, especially Ebay no name brands.

    • Thanks for sharing your experience! Very informative! Might go with 50w one hehe.. I do however am baffled why the clipsal sensor cost so much?!! What on earth? It just "sense" right?

      • I'm not entirely sure why they're so expensive, probably because they're built to last.

Several houses around me have them and they're over 10 years old now & still going strong & in full sun.

All the sparkles swear by them too.

      • Engineered fit for purpose. Cheap items sold in warehouses are usually bought buyers who know next to nothing and buy whatever will help them hit their KPI's (usually junk).

It's a 230V device, so an electrician has to install it. It's usually cheaper to pay more for a sensor and just one install than buy three or four and pay for an electrician to come around to replace each failed unit (also why electricians generally won't supply cheap parts, as warranty repairs would be on them).

  • Do you reckon the 30W would light up the driveway enough for a night time game at the basketball hoop? Was going to hang these from ground level eaves above garage door and the hoop is set up about 5m away down the driveway.
