Seeking Advice - New Desktop Computer $1k to $1.5K - Sydney

Hi Guys,

Wish you all a Merry Christmas.

I've been checking on OzBargin for years. But just start to put comments and stuff.

Can you guys advise where to purchase the desktop in Sydney area that you can pick up without waitting for delivery.

My budget is $1k to $1.3K, if it really needs to be, $1.5k. I want to use it for video editing and some FPS game. But games are mainly played on console.

I did place the order with techfast, but chances are, that one is still in fantasy.

Novermber, I saw the post for 5700XT built from Techfast. I'm not that good with desktop built, and this was suppost to be my first. So I read the comments where comments were up for this deal. Also I read the reply from Luke, the representitve I assume, who confirmed "We're getting a lot of 5700 XTs".

After payment and order email received on 30 Nov. I was waited for the update.

14th Dec, techfast confirmed the "your order should be dispatched around the 18th of December."

21st Dec, techfast replied "due to the volatile nature of the current supply chain regarding computer components, there were unforeseen delays in regards to the arrival of the 5700XTs."

I was now offered chance to replace the 5700XT by 2060 super "would be no additional cost". Also techfast confirmed " 2060 Super is roughly 5-10% slower than the RX 5700XT in both 1080p and 1440p gameplay, so it is slightly less powerful."

I've asked techfast today for a faster courier, otherwise I will cancel the order.

Thanks

M1 Mac Mini, if you want to try out macOS?

Perfect for video editing and some light gaming. Runs virtually silent.

Under $1k for the base model when on sale.

    • Thanks for that. The only thing is Mac is bit struggle for FPS game.

  • Just cancel it, if you arent getting the video card you want, all the other components are worthless. Techfast uses very low quality parts to keep their prices down, their only saving grace is the video card if you can get it in stock.
