Looking for Deals on a Good Beginner Telescope + Advice

Can someone please help me find a good deal on a telescope for a beginner please?

I am hoping to use it to see planets, nebulae, closer galaxies (stretch?) . Always happy to take any advice you may have. Cheers.

I dont know much about Telescope so can't help you. But once you get one, can you look at that restaurant on the moon? I heard the food is great, no atmosphere though.

A good start would be a 6" or 8" Dobsonian depending on your budget.
    E.g.

I think in the past they have had Christmas/Boxing Day/New Year's Sale with a 5% coupon sitewide. You can look out if they have that this year.

It's unlikely that will get a huge discount on good telescopes now.
Don't go for any of the touristy/cheap stuff that are $300 and under. You won't see anything and it's not worth it.

    closer galaxies

You can observe Andromeda even with naked eye. Some nebulae (like Orion) as well. Actually they are quite large and could be observed easily.
If you have a DSLR with a zoom lense, you can give them a try easily.
Hardest are the planets. Even with a 8" dob, they are tiny :D

I'm waiting on the StarSense Explorer 114AZ to come back in stock

    • Did you get the StarSense Explorer 114AZ? How do you like it?

  • https://www.twitch.tv/econgreg for some astronomy streams. He's in America so take the time zone into account. He is very knowledgable as are some of the other viewers. You can also select what his public telescope looks at.
