Cheapest 5G plan on Telstra network

Hi,

I’m keen to jump to 5G on Telstra (only network with 5G at my house). I am currently using under 10gb per month on Spintel $20 plan.

I though I’d see if anyone know how to access the Telstra 5G network cheap.

Thanks in advance for any help!

  • Why would you need 5g for under 10gb a month?

    • I’m very interested in ‘new’ tech and want to check out the speed differences. Also, thinking about 5G broadband as a solution and want a test run.

      • The only way to access Telstra 5g is with Telstra.

        • Yup, aware of this. The best I can think of is 12 month JB plan $59 with $400 voucher which makes the effective cost around $25/month…

          I’m wondering if anyone has any other/cheaper ways. I’d prefer not to sign up for a 12 month contract…

            @MrFizz: you won't be getting 5g then.

            @MrFizz: Get the $59 plan when they do the $500 voucher. Sell voucher for $450. $21.5 a month. That's what I did. Insanely cheap for the service and reception. Otherwise you can do prepaid, but you will pay more for less.

            Also, 4g is faster than most peoples NBN, I'm not near a tower, and just got 100/12 on a speedtest. Though on 5g I get 500+/100. Unless you are downloading massive things all the time, you won't see that much difference.

      • You're not wrong. What's the point of having the fastest phone on the planet if you're throttled by 4G. You should want the fastest internet possible too to match your fast new phone.

  • If you just want a test, you can get a prepaid sim pack for a month. I am quite certain it has access to 5G.

    • I have 5G access on my Telstra prepaid sim.

      If you just want a test run sign up for the cheapest sim only plan from Telstra and cancel after the first month. Will only cost $40 or $50 for the month and gives you time to play around with it.

    • My prepaid telstra sim shows 5G symbol, same as my plan Telstra esim.

  • Thanks for your help everyone
