Please don’t lump them together like that.. you got my hopes up that doom eternal might have a decent steam price! But nope… crappy Bethesda again.
    Thanks anyways OP

    • Do you need the Bethesda launcher if you get it on Steam? I know Origin and UPlay games you need the launcher

      • Ugh… please don’t remind me of origin

        • UPlay is worse imo. But yeah is there any point to getting a steam copy if you need the Bethesda launcher anyway?

          • @FireRunner: You should still get steam feature like remote play and achievements and multi controller support….

            • @[Deactivated]: Can’t you get those if you add a non-steam game to the library?
              Edit: not achievements

              • @FireRunner: Perhaps you can, but I do find that it works better in steam, especially with using big screen mode an AppleTV with remote play.
The convenience is worth the (generally) few extra bucks.

Also I make it a point to avoid giving (especially) Epic money as they’re being giant d-bags with their apple/Google Vendetta.

As for origin/u-play…. it’s just a glorified launcher with a crappy interface… would continue to support steam where possible

                  @[Deactivated]: Apple/Google Vendetta?
Epic might be dislike for other reasons but the fact that they want to break these monopolies is a good thing.
If any non-digital company tried to act the way they do, people would be outraged. Just because it is Google and Apple the love for their products blinds them to the unacceptable anti-competitive behaviour. Sad.

I'm sorry, are you actually saying you support Apple's position here ?!

It's not Epic who are being the d-bags !

                  • @Nom: Epic signed the terms of agreements when they entered the Apple (and Google) developer programs.

The terms are very easy to understand, you don’t even need a team of lawyers which they surely have.

They’ve contravened the terms by offering direct payment within the app. They could’ve done what Amazon did and simply not offer in app payments and require the user to buy on the web.

As a developer specifically developing for iOS I’m well aware that 30% can be a sizeable amount, but it’s just part of the terms that are accepted. It’s the same that Google do. 70% of a lot is more than 100% of nothing, given the whole ecosystem and platform wouldn’t exist without Apple or Google.

Not to mention if you pay directly to Epic you aren’t covered for buyer protection that iTunes offers even for IAP, I have claimed my money back for a purchase not working.

Epic themselves now take royalties from Developers using the unreal engine… is that so different? Seems exactly the same… the amounts might be different but then so are the services in questions, it doesn’t really change the substance of the argument.

Furthermore Epic have their own store which charges a royalty/commission for sales… again the amount might differ a little but if you tried to circumvent that… Epic would come after you, would they not?

  • Aren't the prices in USD?

    • +1

These are already the Aussie prices AFTER the 20% off. Show in USA but prices in title are converted.

  • Damn cheap, I got mine for $28 thinking that was cheap, LOL.

  • Also, RDR2 for ~$42, lowest it has ever been for PC

  • Doom Eternal, actual Game of the Year, would recommend.
