    DC fans are quiet and very efficient ( uses next to no electricity). I’m using a Ventair one and it’s like silent (no motor hum at all), it you can hear the wind choppy noises at higher speeds but that’s just the blade design.
    No experience with this company though.

    You need confidence in the AC-DC converter as this is built in to most fans, and if it goes, it may be easier to replace the lot. (a spakie who knows what they are doing could save you a lot here)

    AC-DC converters generate heat, but then so do the AC motors.DC is quite cool.
