  • I have a love/hate relationship with Aftershokz, I'm onto my third pair of Aeroplex which both ended up getting the same rattle in the left "ear". Both times I got a warranty claim, although it's a pain to arrange as it is a Chinese based company from what I can gather, and I am just waiting for the third pair to have the same issue out of warranty.
When they work they are excellent, love them for bike riding while still being able to hear ambient sounds. Just beware.

    • Is the rattle from the speaker or a physical object which has somehow detached and is 'rattling' around the ear piece?

I've been using my Trekz Air for 2 years no issue.

I used to have Trekz Air, three warranty claims in two years, rattling once, battery issues the other two times. I stopped using it frequently so the last pair is still good. Warranty claim took about 6 weeks each time. So I recommend not relying heavily on them and having a backup.

      • Have 5 Aftershokz.. might pick up the Openmove from the sale :)
Bluez and Trekz the band broke after a few years so out of warranty.
Still work with some Gaffa tape :) just my spares.

My Aeropex had a rattle was fixed done via Australian company in QLD

Shipped new one to me in a few days in the middle of Vic lockdown.
proved I destroyed the old ones
Have two Air's no problems with although think Aeropex better sounding.

I have hearing problems although connectivity still fine so Bone Conductive I get stereo.
Where even hearing aids or setting up profiles with airpods not really great stereo field.
Have a few to be sure battery and also sync to multiple devices.

      • Ya I had a pair of Airs warrantied after one side stopped working (the earphones still worked overall which was weird including the physical button).

Took 2-3 months to get warrantied and that involved several follow ups.

  • What’s the sound quality like?

I’ve always assumed it might lack in the top end?

    • +1

      Lack more bottom end.
You get bleed if someone next to you.
Not super loud.. Some people do not like the buzz against the bone when on full.
As your ears open not you can hear everything in the room.
      Well if you have hearing.
I have like 20% hearing in one ear and 40% the other so work for me well :)

If you ride a bike, just don't go over 20km. The wind noise kills all sound. They come with earbuds but then the sound goes very freaky, ended up throwing those away.
Sound is like listening to an FM transistor. The sound is not horrible and they are very light. If you turn up the volume though, they vibrate quite a bit. After you take them off, you still get a tingling sensation which is weird.
