  • Not a bad price, but not a bargain either.

I bought this same DSLR kit a few months back. Have a look on Whirlpool forums, there's a thread where people have posted up receipts which you can use to try and price match on this.

I ended up getting the kit for $1350 locally here in Australia at JB HiFi on the Gold Coast.

If you want my receipt, email me and I'll send it through to you.

So I have a full Nikon Australia warranty for the first year, as well as avoiding shipping costs because I went in store to buy it.

If you are going to try and get this price, you may have a bit of a rough road though. I went to every single camera shop and retailer in Brisbane CBD, Garden City, Logan Hyperdome, and finally on the Gold Coast I was able to get someone to price match. Expect to get laughed at a lot and a lot of dirty looks but that's half the fun of bargain hunting. =)

    Kind regards,
    True Blue OzBargainer.

    • wow that is a true effort to ask so many places, how come did they finally price match? just a inexperience person served you?

I've got a friend who is interested in this camera so would you mind sending me the receipt from JB-hifi?
      email is white.rabbit288'atgmaildotcom'

I tip my hat to you good sir or madam.

  • Dont buy expensive you have to pay GST and customs on cost + shipping

How about GST and Custom Duty?

For the order value less than AU$1,000 - No GST or Custom Duty has to pay . please check Australia Custom web site http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page5549.asp
For the order valus over AU$,1000 - Australian Custom Clearance Service is provided by Fedex or DHL, we will provide all necessary documents bundle with the parcels. Customer may need to pay GST, Duty and Custom Clearance fee for Custom Clearance.

  • I would have thought that any Duty/Import fees would be covered by the seller as I'm the end customer, not the importer?

    • No, you would be considered the person importing the goods in this case.
