Thoughts - Vacuum and Mop AIO Robot Vacuums

Howdy,

The wife is at me to get a iRobot (ish) AIO vacuum and mop. politics aside (I do the mopping and vacuuming) i'm going to have a look at them and interested to hear the ozbargain preference / go to

We have 2x dogs - the Labrador always seems to be shedding. I usually vacuum once a week though occasionally a top-up if needed.
Inner west terrace - hardwood floors - open plan living (no carpet or rugs)

We have steps down into our kitchen/living/loungeroom so the robot will stay there

Unsure of budget, though hard to stomach $800 for something I already do. I will look at all recommended options
Considering i have a dog - i think i will need the vacumm to have its own bin, instead of just a sweeper

Hoping to hear thoughts / recommendations / guidance / flaming to help the cause

Cheers and HNY!

I think the Ozbargain favourite Roborock s5 max or s6 pure will do the job for ~$500-$600, you can go better, although it's a case of diminishing returns (unless you want one with an automatic emptying bin).

    • awesome thanks - Looks like the s5 max is a better machine so will have a look

any reviews or thoughts? or best places to buy the s5 max?

  • If you expect the robot to travel between rooms, then you better find ones that’s proven to have reliable mapping capability.

A friend ended up having 3 xiaomi vacuum robots, one in each key room/area of his choice because its mapping feature is as good as nothing that he just let those bots bumping around in their designated regions and he still have to do periodic mopping every now and then.

That’s just an indirect experience and I’ve no knowledge if xiaomi is generally as unreliable as he said.

I have posted a request to the roborock ebay account for a s5 max discount (either amazon or their website)

fingers crossed - It seems reading a few of the other deals here - that people are waiting for the price to reduce <$550 AUD

    • Did you get a response from their Ebay account? I messaged them on Amazon and was told "look out for our next sale in March"

      • Pushed for a discount - also that we have a few people waiting to purchase.

Response was that they cannot match the $500 - $550 price that I sent.

I responded saying even $600 might get a few sales, no response

I did notice that the S7 is due to be released in march…. might align with your response re the next sale

        I can wait :)

  • Really depends on your level of acceptable cleanliness. I have robo rock s50 (pretty old now) and it does an OKAY job on hard floor imo.
