  • That's a great price!

  • Price beat at officeworks? Would make it $379

  • How does this work without a smartphone?

I get that it is LTE, but do I need a separate SIM and new number, or can I go for a run and any calls to my phone divert to the watch?

      https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/one-number
As an example. Costs $5 a month.

      • Thanks - weird it says Samsung S10 family is not listed (or eligible) - although I suspect anything newer on the list automatically is

        • +1

Family member has S9 and Watch Active 2 LTE with telstra no issues ;-)

Weird it doesn't list s10, looks like it hasn't been updated in a while haha

Your phone plan would need to allow e-sim capability for you to be able to leave your device at home and use the watch only for calls. Your regular number then diverts to esim each time you get a call.

    • Vodafone is 5$ per month also. Use the same number.

Just to highlight, presently only Telstra, Optus and Vodafone direct customers can use eSIM, so if you are with any MVNO, then no use having Cellular/LTE smart watch.

  • Great price given its 639 at EPP. There may be cheaper alternatives if you don't care for cellular eg Kogan has it for 289+shipping, or if you want to go grey imports (unsure if the Amazon US watch will work here)…

  • Can anyone confirm if the LTE connection will work on other phones other than Samsung. I have the 46mm and it will only provide the LTE functionality with a Samsung product and does not provide LTE with either a Google Pixel 4XL or an OPPO Find X2 Pro?

    • Can you download the Galaxy Wear app on those phones and go through there?

    • Yes for me (P2xl and Reno 5G)

  • Good price but samsung au block this watch from using blood oxygen and blood pressure functions. Unless you know how flash the firmware to US ver, I would avoid getting it if you want health tracker watch. Also the sleep tracker its really bad, few peoples had raise the issues on samsung forum but until now theres no fix patch yet.

    • That should be just temporary until they get approvals from the government / health department

But it’s hard to say how long this can or will take.. assuming it happens. I personally wouldn’t recommend buying this if you’re holding out for this feature.

    • can side load the app to get heart rate and blood presure

  • If you're not bothered about LTE you can pick up the other version in the Samsung Education store for $389 with the $50 discount coupon. Comes with the sports band which some people (like me) prefer.

  • Got it for $350.47, after 10% giftcards and 3.5% cashback.

    • dont think the cashback works if you use giftcards

      • I got a confirmation email. But true, it still might get declined.

These are crap. Not rotating bezel is so bad. Get the galaxy watch 3 46mm instead

    • Why would you want a physical rotating bezel, when it does have touch rotating bezel? Less moving parts mean less things to physically go wrong with the hardware.

      • I have 2 users in my household who have this watch and its much better to have a physical bezel then using two fingers to slide left right and try and navigate especially if you don't have tiny fingers. When swiping you will not get the response you want always and maybe have to try 2 3 times, whereas with rotating bezel each rotation gets you to where you want it.

Disagree, had the bigger LTE version and the touch bezel is so much better, been using it since launch. My fingers are huge.
          Touch is the future! Embrace!

  • Jbhifi Broadway price matched no worries.

    • Yep price matched over the phone with JB Hifi - and using a couple gift cards to click & collect at Homebush DFO later
