  • When I was all about the strobist life I would have jumped on this deal instantly

  • That's crazy cheap for C-stands

  • Are these good C-stands? Will it hold a strobe and modifier above someones head without falling?

    • +1

I bought one a few weeks ago for hair light setup. It's really sturdy.

    • I have 4, will buy more. Nothing seems to come close to the quality of these at the price. I wouldn't be using them at full extension (3m), might get some swaying with an arm, but with just a strobe and modifier should be no drama.

Looks more like meth lab equipment

Just some advice, these aren't true C-stands. This particular model highest leg doesn't adjust like a real C-Stand (they have a model that does). It's ok if fixed legs are fine. I returned mine for the newer Neewer version.

    • link to the updated model?
      edit: this one https://www.amazon.com.au/Neewer-Upgraded-Heavy-Stainless-C-…
I can see the adjustable leg being a nice to have, but probably not for the price premium

If you just have it in the studio, at home indoors, likely you won't need an adjustable leg.

Once you take it outdoors or on location, it's invaluable for most.

        • Thanks for the tip. Might pass on this C-Stand deal for now

      • yeah I have the all fixed legs, threw a set of wheels on one and makes rolling around a heavy LED Panel light easy as. But yeah any work out in the field off of a level studio floor wouldn't be the same.

    • Did you mean that the boom arm does not extend its length?

    • +2

Plenty of "real" c-stands don't have an adjustable (sliding) leg. It's not a defining feature of them.

  • Been waiting for a deal like this since Black Friday! Needed a set to hold up a moving blanket :)

    • To hold a moving blanket?

      (Expecting a joke to climax)

      • His blanket won't stop moving, so he needs a stand to hold it still.

  • Hey dudes, what do you store them in? I have some and struggle to not damage my house with them. All the pro cases cost more than my c stands.

    • Yup, pro c stand bags cost as much or more than brand name c stands.

    • +1

Snowboard bags are a good alternative. Well made and not AS expensive.
