Steam or Power Mop for Cleaning Tile Floor

Getting old and lazy, wondering if a gadget would be any good in cleaning the kitchen floor

Looking at a few and they all seem to rely on using a microfibre cloth to pickup the grime. I assume that will get dirty and need cleaning very quickly?

What's good?

If you are willing to splash the cash, the "mums who clean" Facebook group raves about the Hizero. Think the bissell crosswave comes after

    • Any discussion if the Hizero is $350 better than the bissell?

have used the Karcher Steamer for more than 10 years on our floors at home. absolutely brilliant. highly recommended.

Got a Kmart one that does a decent enough job.

The microfibre pads do get dirty but it's usual to buy more than one with the machine, so you can replace with a clean one if the first gets dirty mid-clean. Then just throw them in the washing machine. If you're only doing one room, and it's not filthy, you should get the whole floor done with one pad. I bought a Hoover branded cleaner from Godfreys and it does a good job.

    • we buy a pack (i think 5?) of terry towels from kmart for a few dollars and cut em in half. u can wash and reuse them for about 5 times each.

Buy this and test it out, see if you like it.
I vouch for its ability to clean: bought a new house tiled throughout, previous owners kept it clean-ish yet spend half a day walking around barefoot and feet turn black. After two rounds of this, walk around all week and no dirt on feet.
If you're happy with it, then buy more expensive once it breaks.

Note: you have to have well vacuumed floors prior to steam mopping.
