  • Yes

    • Wrong…it's definitely no…

Badges are interchangeable so you can't really go wrong.

  • Flip a coin.

    Mazda easier to spell

Hyundai have arguably better after sales service. For that reason alone, i'd buy Hyundai over Mazda. see here

  • No diesel engine available for CX-9.

  • Mazda probably has a better reputation than Hyundai due to Japanese vs Korean. Is it warranted, probably not. Only thing it means is you’ll get more cred from those that care about silly things like badge snobbery. Otherwise much of a muchness.

  • Yes, no, maybe.

    • I don't know.

      Could you repeat the question?

      • rock paper scissors

  • how abt Lexus NX300?

  • Like my santa fe..

Like the fuel economy of the diesel but I don't like the sound if the engine.

Like the comfort and features. Like the access to the 3rd row.

But I also like my mates cx9

    Forget I said anything

  • In previous models, with 3rd row seats up there was more luggage room in CX9 than Santa Fe. Either cx9 is longer or seats closer together.

We bought cx9 so could have car full of passengers and still gave cases in the back. But liked them both

    • Any room for the dog?

      • +1

Dog prefers the more comfortable second row

        • For the trip to bunnings?

  • We looked at both the Santa Fe and the CX9 (plus a couple of other 7 seater options at the time).

While the Santa Fe felt a bit beefier and felt more up to date with it's tech (as a owner of a few Mazda's I feel they always lag here) we went with the CX9 for a few reasons:

    • Has a clip for a child seat in the second row
    • Seemed to be only 7 seater with still decent boot space with 2nd row up, we could fit a pram in there without issues
    • Interior was much nicer than Santa Fe, didn't feel so plasticy
    • Got a decent price on a previous year demo model
