How Long Does an Insurance Assessor Take for an Outcome?

Hey guys just trying to figure when I have a insurance assessor assigned how long takes for outcome? Have anyone have any fast outcome?

  • What is the asset? House? Car?

  • +1

Depends on which Insurance company is involved.

A car backed into mine and the owners Insurance company was a budget dodgy brothers type and it took almost 2 months to be assessed and OK'd for fixing.

A different claim through AAMI was assessed and the OK was given within 1 week. YMMV.

  • have you as your insurance company yet?

  • For a car it can take between 2 days and a week.
For house insurance it can take a long time and they will drag it out. If it's house insurance it can take a while to get a quote(s) to repair the damage.
For contents they will need a list and make sure the list includes references to places they can get replacements from (do NOT include Bunnings, HN etc as they get 20 to 30% discounts from these guys, so if you can find them somewhere else put the other place in the list).

If they take more than 10 days to get back to you then read up on the http://codeofpractice.com.au/ to see how the process should work and ask them to adhere to the process. This can speed things up.

Why does it matter if they can get you the same replacement item for cheaper? You still get that item.

      • If they are paying you out then they will pay you the amount they would buy the goods for, which is not retail!

If they are replacing the items then I agree.

  • I can honestly say, my mind reading abilities failed on this one.

    • Agree, the mind does boggle some times.

How long is a piece of string…. Seriously!!
