Amazon Listing Issue with Product Quantity

I order product from Amazon which suppose to have 1 package which includes 4 items. When I purchased the description clearly says 4 items inside 1 package but now when I received item there was only 1 quantity.

Seller is telling me that they don't change listing on Amazon.

Amazon told me that market listing changes very often so they can't check what was the description of the listing at the time of purchase.

what are my options?

is there any ways i can check original listing description similar to ebay where you can check original purchase listing ?

also who should pay for the return shipping seller or shall i pay? not sure if paypal is of any help on free return?

any advise would be appreciated.

Is Amazon seriously saying they don't have change/version log? Wow - that's dodgy and I didn't know that.

i did online chat with their customer service and they said they don't keep log of the seller on market place… !

ebay is far better in that sense as they show you original posting version at the time of purchase.

    Email from your order?

  • What's the link to the product. If you don't tell us we're gonna assume it was a four pack of extra large marital aids.

      • That page isn't in the wayback machine, or Google cache. And there's no reviews to check if anyone else mentions getting four of them. The description says "Package Including 1pc x Hubcaps", did it not say that when you ordered? Searching for the ASIN on Google brings up other hubcaps in four packs but not the same hubcaps and not by the same seller.

        • when i purchased it said 4xhubcaps. now the only way to prove is to have screenshot of the listing page when i bought it. ebay does it all the time so even if i was making mistake then it is easy to correct and if supplier is playing up then it is easy to check.

i always find it hard to believe that i buy 1 hubcap when i had four wheel car … !! i checked it four time with my partner and price was amazing so i thought to buy… and now i only got one hubcap…. or i buy three more which will cost me fortune as the material they sent me is cheap plastic is it is not alloy or anything like super quality.

            • @AustriaBargain: yes it is same. i asked for return so see what happens but is very dodgy of amazon to not provide listing version… i am sure there are many facing same issue like me.

i always find it hard to shop on amazon compare to ebay.

              • @SydBoy: I always find Amazon is more expensive than eBay. But at least you know what to expect with Amazon for delivery times and returns. Order something from eBay and it could take a month to arrive.

                • @AustriaBargain: delivery time was never a issue, the only reason i bought this one from amazon is because ebay didn't have anything similar and also that day cashreward/shopback was running deal with amazon…. so i literally screwed up… by going amazon… :(

  • also does anyone knows how to communicate with seller? because on ebay you have message section to talk to seller but here i can't find message section.

i got email from seller saying they never change posting …. without proof of original listing. now how to reply do we go on to amazon to reply or simply reply to email?

Rule of thumb is never buy from third party sellers on Amazon Marketplace without Prime cover. Use eBay instead for the Paypal buyer protection.

Amazon is great for Prime items that are fulfilled/delivered by Amazon and their returns support are fantastic. But this doesn't apply to third party sellers.

      • so paypal don't provide return for amazon? or buyer protection for amazon?

        • Amazon does not directly accept PayPal payments so no.

      • thanks for advise, never going amazon again for anything…. as i don't believe in paying fee for prime membership.

I would reconsider that. I'm not a fan of subscriptions and was like that too but Prime is well worth it. For the price of the cosmetic hubcaps, you get a whole year's access to great prices on products, free delivery and returns which pays for itself and on top of that you get Prime Video which has a great selection of TV shows and movies. Give it a try.

  • Wow, ~$50 for each hubcap?

I know that's rip off…. And Amazon don't provide old listing copy is worst.

Supplier just emailed me and asked to give me $4AUD refund… So basically I will loose cashreward $10 and end up with 1 hubcaps that I can't use …😭

  • I always take a screen shot of everything I buy (for next time)
