LG 27GN950 V Factory Refurbished ASUS PG27UK Monitor

27GN950 vs PG27UK

Hey guys I’m looking to get a new 4K monitor. After some research, I’ve decided on the LG 27GN950. However, the store I want to buy it from has a factory refurbished PG27UK for the same price and with full warranty.

So, if you could get either monitor for the same price, which would you get? I was still leaning towards the 27GN950 as it’s a 2020 model. But really, I’m unsure. Input would be greatly appreciated!

  • I'd go the new unbutchered one.

  • The only reason to get one is gaming. That's a lot of money to spend on a tiny 27" monitor. What's the point of 4K on that size.

I wouldn't get either and would get a decent TV instead, but if I had to, it would be the ASUS.

    • Yep, a gaming monitor. I see what you're saying and that's a good point. I just don't have the space for anything alrger than 27".

  • Don't buy LG monitor as a factory second.

    Why? my story.

Purchased a 32UD99 as a factory second a year and half back and now it has a light bleed on the corner. I should have got a brand new one back in the days so I could get it repaired under 3 Year warranty but the factory second ones only come with 1-year warranty.

Also it seems the light bleed in the corner is quite widespread for other models as well so don't risk your investment.

    • Whoa, that's some crazy light bleed. The factory reburbished one is the ASUS monitor though. But your point of risking the investment is solid. I'm just tempted at getting a refurbished one for half the price.
