Car Transport carrier reviews

I am looking to transport my car from Cairns to Brisbane (dont feel want to drive it this time) but while researching I was a bit wary with the reviews of PrixCar or the more expensive CEVA on truspilot, produc review, whirlpool etc. I understand that we should take reviews with grain of salt. Is it the same case as courier company reviews, which mostly got 1 star rating but we keep using them anyway (maybe no choice)?

  • Dealers generally use Ceva, from my experience, but ymmv

Tho that really does seem a driveable distance

    • It’s 1700km. Sure it’s drivable, but pretty much 2 days.

  • I've used CEVA for SYD -> MEL and it was decent. Gets the job done, but there wasn't much communication especially about delays.

  • +1

A lot of transport and courier businesses get bad reviews because when you get your goods in a timely and safe manner, thats just how it should be… no one is really over the moon their package came on the day it was due, its just “ah, thats good, it came.”

You put a 1 day delay or dent in a box and the devil himself would be scared of the rage of an inconvenienced customer.

Basically everyone is quick to write a bad review but few and far between for average uneventful deliveries.

Any of the big car transport companies should be fine, just make sure you read what you are agreeing to in their terms and make sure your happy with liability insurance etc before signing and paying.

Main advice is don’t be lured in by cheap transport.

Make sure you use a specialised car transport company (eg: a company that exclusively transports cars) like Ceva/prix cars. Purely for the fact you know your car will be transported correctly and not picked up / moved around with a forklift or put somewhere in storage for a short time where it may be damaged.

    • Thanks El. That's what i thought - that when we got the expected service we dont usually comment or give a 5 star review.
Yes I only ask quote from PrixCar and CEVA as they are the big ones (and I neeed the car delivered in 7 days max, not wekks), I believe most smaller carriers are their contractors.

I used Car Transport Express to send my Toyota 86 from Victoria to Queensland when I sold it. Had no issues at all, they delivered the car to the guys house and he was happy. +1 from me.

    • tossing up between CTE and Prix currently… CTE's Product Reviews seems extremely sus, far and away loaded with glowing reviews compared to other movers… here i am checking other sources for reviews

  • Used CEVA they were fabulous. Really good service.
