4 new-tech copper pipes will dissipate CPU heat with maximum efficiency.
The direct-touch technology helps the heat pipes to absorb CPU heat more efficiently.
The heat sink’s larger surface area assists with faster heat release.
The 120mm PWM fan maintains a perfect noise-performance balance.
The fan includes 4 blue LEDs, providing bright and well-balanced lighting.

    Cool

  • Can the LEDs be disabled?

    • No.

      • sad

      • Can't you just destroy the LED?

        • +1

They will run off one of the input wires, simply sever it in the right place and the silliness stops

          • @resisting the urge: You could easily just run them off the same power as at fan. This is really bad advice.

          • -1

@resisting the urge: Great way to ruin your fan smart guy.

This is a standard 3 pin PWM, it needs all 3 to work at all.

            • @Merlict: You disconnect one of the wires to the LED array, not the motor, all three to the motor remain linked.

I did it on one which had the array around the outside of the clear fan body. If the LEDs are in the fan blades, it is harder, but can still be done as the fan blades often pop off, but it can be risky so check with this model or don't by this one if it's critical to you and you wish to avoid screwing it up.

    • just get a different fan/model. why waste the additional effort for this?
fans that have built in soft 'toggles' would be far more expensive and marketed as some BS feature.

      • Additional effort? I was simply asking a question…

        • not attacking you for asking the question, i was genuinely curious why would someone buy a LED fan /cooler combo that they intend to disable at some point in time…. while at the same time, looking at the price point, it would be hard to imagine a manufacturer would build in some sort of feature to enable the customer to do that easily (without increasing cost of product).

then looking at the price point (again), why would someone risk spending that money to buy that to risk bricking the fan, instead of buying something that doesn't have the LED in the first place.

and again, its not an attack, its something i find it hard to rationalise. if it's "just because, reasons", i guess i'm okay with that.

  • Not bad for the price.

Would be even better with a fan upgrade like a nice Arctic P12

These are great value CPU coolers, only thing I read is that the V1's actually have a better fan, so I still try to buy them if possible

  • Looks nice and thin. I just bought a be quiet! dark rock slim yesterday to fit my itx mobo but this would've been much cheaper

  • +1

If you don't want the LED light, just replace the fan with a non LED one
Also, if you want RGB, just replace the fan with a RBG one

Rickrolled in the best way. I think its time to watch that movie again.

Great price and good value fan for all those recent CPU buyers looking for an upgrade over stock coolers.

  • Cooler height 155mm, perfect for my case Lian Li o11d, just bought one for spare.
    (currently using NZXT kraken x72)

  • Does anyone know where to buy an extra set of fan clips for this? This product specifies it doesn't come with an extra set but says so otherwise on their own product page.

    • +1

I have the non V2 version and it comes with an extra set of fan clips in the box.

      • Yeah this one specifies it doesn't in the Amazon ad but fingers crossed!

        • +1

I got the GTE V2 and unfortunately it did not come with spare clips. On a related note, I too am interested in a spare set of clips :^)

Have to keep my side case off for my Acer predator. Make sure it fits before you buy lol. Lucky my Acer is just a Blue iris system hidden away.

    blue steel

must… resist urge to buy cheap spare for which I have no immediate use for… 'but I might need it'

I have the little bro, the 300. It's very quiet w/that 120mm fan. Great deal on the 400!

    • Same here. I use the 300 and don't even really notice it. Whenever I hear fan noise, it's the GPU fans ramping up. Keeps temps satisfactory as well. Really can't fault it.

  • Would it cool a 5950x ?

    • +8

I imagine if you spent 1k on the CPU, you might have a higher budget for CPU cooler..

      • +2

either that or he blew all his $ on the CPU and now needs budget fan;)

      • Question is more around its cooling capability, dont have a 5950x. FYI they're ~$1.5k CPU atm with scalpers.

        • It will handle a 5950x just fine running within spec, just don't expect the same PBO2 numbers that you'd get from running a 280mm AIO.

    • They claim it can cool up 180W TDP, so in theory it should be enough, but I would recommend getting something bigger.

    • I used this on a 5900X was getting 69 deg in cinebench r20

      • Try prime95 with avx workloads

  • All gone :(

  • +1

Worthwhile upgrading from stock cooler on r3600 with small OC?

    • +2

The snowman on AliExpress is awesome for the 3600. I have one and it's really quiet and keeps it nice and cool.

    • +2

Yeh I just bought the Dark Rock 4 for my 3600, was previously getting temps in the 80s from gaming.
Definitely need an aftermarket cooler for your CPU I think.

    Dammit missed out!

Bought a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Led Turbo a week ago. What a pity!
I think this would have been a better cost/benefit choice.

I grabbed this for my unraid server, really good value I think!
