Maybe kill the link to the book that isn't free. Mention it, just no link. Stupid one click buy is going to catch someone out (I've never been caught before but would have been except my account was US so it didn't work)

At first glance I thought that was Joyce Meyer on the cover.

Purchased in 2014. Don't remember it, so on a quick read was generic rubbish. (My opinion)

What makes you think you’ll be a good waiter?

You could say I bring a lot to the table

I got this free from 2014…and I still haven’t read it. Lol.

    • Doesn't matter. It's free electrons

Honestly. Scripted answers appear as unauthentic.

Interviews are an art. Sometimes you'll know within 5 minutes if you're wasting your time or not because there isn't any engagement.

No one know your experience and education better than you, but they know what they want. They may not tell you what they want. It's a matter of working out what they want and if that's the same thing you can offer them.

I was skeptical of this free ebook but as an interviewer myself, I’ve glanced through the first five or so questions thinking I’d find it appalling but in all honesty it’s not bad. For one, it reminds readers to use STAR when responding to behavioural questions, and secondly it helpfully highlights what the point of the questions are. The latter may sound obvious but from what I’ve seen, this often goes pear shaped when candidates get the wrong idea about what a question is wanting and end up giving a totally irrelevant anecdote, or in some cases, providing an answer which demonstrates the opposite trait being looked for.

Bit that is all generic stuff, that is on seek, careeerone etc, any recruiters website, government careers portals etc. Or a general google search.

Nothing new in here sadly. And very American focussed.

      • God Damn!

      • Just calling it as I see it based on the content in this free ebook alone and thought it was written in a way which would at least suit say internship/graduate/first mover type roles. Would've definitely been beneficial if some of the candidates which came to me had read it beforehand. I guess not everyone knows that the key words to Google are "behavioural question interview tips" or something…

How to answer ridiculous questions by fat cat HRs that are probably less qualified and worse than you…….

    Yawn….

    • Dude most recruiters are out of work backpackers hustling the client on mobile phones, barely making rent.
Most talent acquisition specialists are just there to screen word CVs all day at the hiring manager's discretion

If you get an interview, be grateful that you've made it through a few layers of nonsense.

My wife completed postgrad study in HR.. can she get a job in HR. No, because she hasn't worked in Payroll

HR only serves to protect the employer against litigation from employees, or protect their reputation. Talent acquisition is a little lower end.
