Company That Helps to Setup Whole House Audio for New Built House

Hi guys,

I am building a new house soon and trying to look for company that does the set up for whole house audio (ie in ceiling speakers). Looking for the whole solution, from buying the speaker, help to set it up (wiring) etc. Based in Brisbane.

Most of the sites I found on Google targets home cinema rather than the whole house audio.

Thanks guys.

  • Why ceiling though? Because I think it's overrated. With multi smart multi room audio speakers so prevalent these days, my Sonos or Echoes get more use than ceiling speakers I've had installed.

    • To get the best atmos experience.

    • I feel in-ceiling is way better than speaker boxes sitting on shelves and benches.

    • What's stopping OP from connecting a "smart" system to the in-ceiling speakers?

      • You could, and my ceiling speakers are actually connected to my Sonos. But I find that I'm now gravitating more towards smart speakers that I can place around the room and find the sound quality from them much better.

  • I’d just get a bunch of Sonos wifi speakers and spread them through the house. We have 4 from ikea which are like $150 each and can listen to the same Spotify playlist in all rooms at the same time, or different ones in different rooms, works excellently

    • Or even the sonos speaker lamp things

whole house audio (ie in ceiling speakers).

Shopping centre ? Not everyone want to listen to the same song.

      Haunted house? Prep for halloween.

Fortunately for OP, it's his house.

Muzak sounds like crap from any speaker.

I'd imagine most good HiFi shops will be able to offer this service even if they specialize or promote home theatre (it's a bigger market).

Maybe chat with Brisbane HiFi as a starting point but I would say wireless speakers are a better option like most are suggesting.

    • Exactly.
Any HiFi shop, including the home theater specialist you mentioned. Home theater is very similar work.

    • +1 on a HiFi shop. Send them a email with your budget/requirements and they should be able to put together some options. If you have the floor plans/mock ups already send them through as well.

Once Brisbane is out of lockdown you should be able to go there to hear a demo of the speaker and see what they look like.

You’ll probably need to discuss with your builder/ electrician about wiring for the speakers to make sure it is in the right places.

Why not just use something like AirPlay, rather than a hifi receiver with zones that no one else in your house will ever bother to understand. Just make sure it's AirPlay 2 if you want to change between sections of your house and your whole house at the same time.

Usually the builder has a few people

thanks guys for all the comments, I'll try to the hifi place and also check some other alternatives too.

Don't go for in ceiling speakers. They lack the resolution and output of a proper speaker. Instead go for network streaming speakers in the rooms. I use yamaha musiccasts. Simple to setup and spectacular sound. If you want, you can also hang them to the wall and also hide all the wiring required for power supply.
