Best Stockbroker for Both AU & US Shares - Anyone Done a Comparison?

Hello all,

I'm looking for a cheap & good & full-features stock trading platform to trade both ASX & US shares.

I'm currently using HSBC's Share trading platform to trade ASX shares (using it coz i bank with them, so its easy), but looking for a cheaper platform, and HSBC dont do US shares either.

ASX i plan to make a couple of big trades per month, mostly ETF's (above minimum fee level for most brokers)
US i plan to make a couple of small trades per month, buying specific stocks.

I know there's a number of options, but wonder if an experienced invididual has already done some comparison of fees & features and has any advice?
To my knowledge the following do AU&US shares:

Charles Schwabb
IG
Stake
CMC
eToro

There's probably others too? What's the best one? How does one get USD into there?

Superhero has zero fees for ASX ETFs.

Depends on trade size.

CMC can do Australia and US markets in the one account. US trading is "free" but you have to pay a FX conversion fee which is like 0.7 basis points (0.7%). I was buying some UK shares and it works out to be about $5 per AUD$1000. ASX basic trade is $11 or 0.1%, could do better rates. Many will propose the two accounts solution as you will rarely get best rates on both AU & US markets with a single broker.

I use Interactive Brokers for both AU and US shares.

I've had to answer my own question by doing lots of reading through broker fine print. Here's my table. Spoiler, SelfWealth seems to be best if you want to do both AU & US shares from same broker/account and dont need any pro-trader features that IB/CMC/Schwabb have

Hi All,

I am looking for suggestions on which trading platform is better and cheap to invest in Australia and US based shares. I am new to this and any suggestions would be welcome.

I will be starting with small amount at the moment with very low trading numbers. I am looking for an account which is easy to use, less brokerage fee and maintenance fees on account.
