Replacement Rubber Washers for Sink Basket Plug

Hi,

I'm looking to see if it is worth replacing the rubber washers/seals that make up the plug. I bought 1 replacement plug (blue washer - see image https://ibb.co/BZVW1s3) from Bunnings and this lasted less than a year before it started draining the water completely. The two underneath are the ones that I came with the sink when I moved into my house (which also have failed). Prefer to replace the washer/seal than simply replacing the whole plug, or even replacing the whole sink basket waste in my kitchen sink. Can anyone suggest where to buy the washers that are long lasting?
TIA

    What is the question?

  • see if it is worth replacing the rubber washers/seals that make up the plug

Depends on what it is worth to you.

    • All depends on the price of replacement parts, as not wanting to really be part of a 'use once throw it away society'.

Hmm, in that case use a bucket or a large bowl if you want to retain the water in the sink, then reuse the water for the garden. Which you can't do if you let it flush down the drain.

Try Reece plumbing or Tradelink. They might have a better quality washer

I have the same plugs and the washers eventual leak i replace them maybe once a year.
Just chuck one of these kits on them https://www.mitre10.com.au/fix-a-tap-basket-strainer-washer-…

you can always install a standard plug if you want

I bought the same product and it works well.

      Takes seconds to change.
