Hi, a question.
Do I have to wear a face mask when picking up a passenger coming from wa (family) from Perth Aiport?
I will not go inside the airport, only access for me will be the pickup area from Perth Airport (T1).
Not sure about the rules.

No. It clearly says on the trip home.
Common sense does not strange these days I must admit.
People don't realise if the person is required to quarantine until a negative result you probably need to have a mask on, socially distance and do additional cleaning to prevent infection.
If people just check there will be a lot of material on how to prevent infection throughout the household while someone is in home quarantine such as use of disposable food containers. Placing food outside the door of person quarantining rather than asking them to open the door and placing food into their hands.

and ask family member to change to a new mask, you have no idea what is outside of the mask from the confines of a plane.

As soon as
1.you are not the only person in the car,
2. any of the other people in the car is subject to a quarantine requirement, and
3. you are in the airport precinct
then you are required to wear a mask.

Engaged in transport services means travelling in a vehicle of any kind, including a private vehicle, ride-share vehicle or taxi and whether as a passenger or driver where the particular passenger or driver knows or ought reasonably to have known that at least one person in the vehicle is subject to a quarantine requirement, and engages in a transport service has a corresponding meaning.Technically this is not just limited to the airport precinct - but it is highly unlikely you'd get done if you were outside the airport precinct.

I was in the airport on Wednesday. And either the government is about to collect about $20m from people or they werent handing out fines. Id say 60%+ of travellers did not wear a mask.
I did but if they are going to have this stupid rule, enforce it.

Regulations came into effect 13 jan.
Gov will hand out free masks for 5 days (in WA).
After that, travellers will have to supply their own.
Cops where checking arriving planes to make sure people are wearing the masks.
I am sure that they will fine one or two to scare people and make sure people are wearing masks.
