Recommend me a VPN

I'm after recommendations for a VPN.

My previous service Cyberghost started doing some funny crap with the killswitch, and so I ditched them.

My usage is for mainly torrent downloads, and overseas Xbox game purchases.

My preferred countries for these sorta things are Cambodia, Brazil, Turkey, Argentina.

My usual Web usage doesn't need a VPN so I don't use it for general use. Cyberghost didn't like my doing this unprotected, and the killswitch kept on getting in the way of my web browsing.

So, any recommendations? Good service? Good functionality? Good deals?

TorrentFreak's Annual VPN Round-Up is all the information you need.

  • Windscribe

  • Used to use Nord but recently switched to ExpressVPN.

Both are good, ExpressVPN is a bit faster.

  • OP, just curious, what are the benefits of using vpn to download torrents?

  • we rcently started using https://www.oeck.com/. they have great customer support but I am not technically efficient enough to know if they are a good service but check into them for sure.

  • I have been using Torguard for years and recently moved to Nordvpn (90% Cashback). Was happy with TG and am happy with Nord.

With TG, you have to pay for a dedicated IP address for streaming US content.

With Nord, I've been using their US servers without any problems. Speed is close to the maximum that my NBN can reach (100/40).

  • Just scored a deal with pure vpn.

Not the best /fastest coding to reviews, but should be ok for my purposes

    $52USD for 5 years.

Even if it turns out to be crap, I've wasted more money on less useful things in the past.

    Let's see how this goes.

  • I thought I got a good deal on Nord, the Switzerland servers are dial up speed.
    Windscribe was so much better.

  • bit late to the party here, but i found this resource: https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-vpn-service/
