Recently released a new camera B4K. You should have a look at it! Compact size, True 4K, Buffered parking mode, and Waterproof rear camera, audio error alerts are nice features as well.

Two part system with camera head and recorder. Small waterproof cube housing the camera sensor and lens (preferably with easy lens replacement), and SD recorder/power unit that can be mounted out the way, with GPS input port.
Would allow all the usual mounting places (behind the rear-vision mirror, back window, etc) but also allow mounting the camera externally in the front grill/rear registration plate/under the roof rack bar/under the side mirrors - similar to a reversing cam setup.
