Telco with Good Customer Service?

Hey. I’ve just moved from Telstra (expensive, mediocre service) to Woolworths (not bad service but bad signal in my house) to Boost (cheaper than T but on full T network).

Boost product is good but customer service is horrific - I won’t go into detail but we’re talking hours and hours stuck in a chat loop with ppl who keep passing the buck or just not responding.

So - is there any network out there that has actual good customer service? Like, you can call a human and talk to them without waiting for forever oh hold? With ppl that actually want to help and are not just going off a script? Happy to pay a bit more for this.

Thank you.

They are all bad when you have a problem that is not in one of their scripts.

The real problem is trying to get to talk to a level 2 Australian support person, which I have not heard anyone doing for mobile or wireless. Happy to be told I am wrong and how it is done.

    • I had a call from Telstra level 2 recently regarding a problem with LG and Volte, apparently the front line CSR passed it up the chain of command for me. :)

(Otherwise try asking for 'complaints' when you are talking with the robot.)

    amaysim.
Even their Chat Customer Service is awesome. They pretty much solve your issue on-the-go and do not resort to "we'll get back to you" tactics.

    • Sometimes I do need a slow responding service.

I activated the porting from Kogan to Optus last night and it was done at 8am today(Sunday!!). So I got one day wasted, expected to start the new service from Monday. I purposefully did it last night.

      • Generally it is not a human doing it. If everything matches up, it will go through unassisted whatever day it is.

        • But it definitely won't process porting from 10pm to 8am on any day. I am pretty sure about this. However, it starts the auto processing on Sunday morning.

    • Given they'll soon be under Optus (takeover pending vote) and their projected financials, I wouldn't keep my hopes up that it'll remain.

I haven't' used them for mobile, but Aussie Broadband? They use the tesltra network, but it may be the same coverage as woolies. Their broadband customer service is excellent (and Australian).

    • Thanks for the tip, Telstra recently put my monthly rate up and gave me more data which I never use anyway. If ABB use the same network I might port over to them as I already have NBN with them.

How often are you planning on calling customer service?

I haven't called a telco in at least 10 years

    • Good point its not often but frustrating when you have to. Right now their app doesn’t recognise my number a customer so provides no account data, and my text messages are being sent 3 times (this may not be a network issue). Not huge issues just difficult to get any assistance on them.

  • It pains me to say it, but belong has been ok with internet. I needed something account related and I just submitted the online form then someone called within the hour.

You get better online customer service through the telstra app, the more you spend with telstra to unlock their silver and gold reward program. Sometimes the monkeys they have manning the Telstra Stores don't really know what they are doing and it's nice to be able to connect with someone who knows what they are doing, even just through IM on the my telstra app.

When we buy bargain products we shouldn’t expect customer service
If you need customer service you need to pay full price
