[Price Error] NetGear Orbi Wi-Fi 6 System (RBK852) AX6000 (2 Pack) $1 @ Bing Lee

Moved to Forum: Original Link

This is my first deal post so please forgive me if I have failed to furnish any important details.

Caught this deal by surprise as I was surfing for some networking stuff.

The RRP is $1,399, but is listed as $1 on the website. You cannot buy 1 unit as the system will complain that your checkout price is too low. I ended up buying 2 units just to be able to complete the transaction.

Not sure if Bing Lee will honour the transaction, but if they do, my home networking is about to get future-proof.

Mod: Orders refunded due to price error. Moved to forums. See comments.

Your not sure if they will Honour it ?? 🤦‍♂️

If they don't honor they should be reported to ACCC and consumer affairs…

For what? A blatantly obvious price error? Give it a rest.

        • +12

Wow everyone is so serious this morning that the "/s" wasn't seen on my post.

Interpol support investigation and prosecution of perpetrators of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes.

This pricing error is all three

      • +4

Their T&Cs probably reserve their right to cancel a transaction due to a pricing error.

          Pricing

          1. Prices displayed on a Bing Lee Website are subject to change without notice. The price of an item once ordered is fixed once the order is accepted by Bing Lee. Subsequent price changes (either up or down) will not apply to accepted orders. All pricing displayed on the Website is for online purchases only and may not be matched at a Bing Lee physical retail location and vice versa. The Customer must pay any specified delivery charge notified through the Website at the time an order is placed by the Customer.
          • @KangaDrew: Price can't change, but I imagine there is somewhere that they reserve the right to cancel orders. I'm not going to waste my time trawling T&Cs when it doesn't matter though.

        there's always one

        • -2

Yeah - there's always one who knows how to read….

@payton: And once the item is ordered and accepted (i.e. order confirmation sent) by Bing Lee, the price is fixed. I've used terms of sale multiple times before and came out in front every time. If no one else is willing to put in the work by taking it up with a company further and not allowing themselves to be walked all over when the legal terms are in your favour, that's not my problem! :-) So everyone can feel free to neg away :-P

      • Just a simple Google search proves you wrong.

In general, there's no federal law requiring companies to honor a price that's wrong on the shelf. There are laws against false or deceptive advertising, but if a company can show the pricing error was just that, an error or mistake, then it's not false advertising.

Whether or not they are in breach of internal policies holds little water when addressing issues of Consumer Law.

Well I've successfully argued against pricing errors and won because their own terms and conditions set out that if an offer to purchase is accepted and an order confirmation is sent, it's a valid contract. They have no way of proving it's a legitimate pricing error since anything could be considered a pricing error.

Granted, this one could be tough to argue against, but if the contract of sale has been accepted, you've got a case to argue for it.

Neggers can neg me as much as they like - no skin off my nose. I've saved over to $600 by using a valid contract of sale as an argument, and saving money is all that counts for me. :-)

helps to have some restraints when constructing a fiction :-)

@payton: Fiction doesn't include invoices :-) But whatever helps you sleep at night lol

    It’s a Bing Lie.

  • Back to $1399

  • The three pack seems relatively cheap at $1999, pricing error ?

  • Damn missed it.

  • +1

They just called … they have cancelled my order. :(

    • +3

Surley you didn't expect them to honour the deal

      • +1

        One can only hope?

        • I'm surprised you still even had hope.

    • +2

LOL it was very kind of you to share, but you might've had better luck getting it if you hadn't posted it to OzBargain. One or two might fly under the radar. Being OzBargained would definitely alert them to the error and they'd have to reject all orders.

If you push them, they will give you a $50 voucher
They offered me one with a TV price error, ending up using it to buy an echo show 5

      • They offered to sell at $904 cost price. I decline it as I am not in need of this tech upgrade.

Thanks OP. I secured 1,399 units at $1 to try and trick Bing Lee #broden
