Xiaomi Gateway Integration to Gen 1 Robot Vacuum Cleaner

Hi folks,

I have a bunch of Xiaomi sensors and gateway (bought via Ozbargain posts in 2017/18) that are running in Mainland China server. Recently, I bought a xiaomi Gen 1 Vacuum cleaner and I am trying to add to the existing ecosystem. however, the vacuum is not running in Mainland China server and it only runs when the location is set to Australia, whereas my old sensors and gateway runs when the location set to Mainland china. Is there any way to have all devices in one system? Thanks.

    You might like to look into "Home Assistant" (not to be mistaken with Google Home). It'll allow you to bring multiple ecosystems onto one platform and also solves the Xiaomi geo-restrictions issue. The best thing is that you can run this completely out of your own local environment thus bypassing Xiaomi and other clouds. Pretty easy to set up especially if you already have a Raspberry Pi sitting around.

      Thanks, I do have a raspberry Pi too :) is there any website/ learning docs that you would suggest for a beginner to start with this project?

    I have the same problem so I use parallel space app to have a duplicate mi home account to run my vaccum on ozserver. it will be nce to link your other sensors to controlling the vacuum.
