Hisense S8 TV

Recently purchased a Hisense S8 50”. I have mainly had Sony TVs however thought I would give hisense a go.
I cannot find/download simple apps like 9Now, 10 play and 7plus? Am I missing something or are these apps not available on this hisense tv? I would be pretty disappointed considering most other branded TVs out there have these apps available.
I would rather not have to plug in something like Apple TV or a firestick to just get these few apps.
Ps currently do not have it connected to an aerial hence I am trying to stream these FTA apps.
Any help would be much appreciated, TIA.

What does the manual say about apps?

You could even go to the manufacturer website and read about them there?

That TV doesn't have Android TV but uses their own 'VIDAA 3.0' OS which is likely far more limited in terms of apps.

However, it does state to have Freeview Plus that can be streamed over broadband as well as aerial. I don't watch TV at all but presuming those channels are part of Freeview? If so, try that app by pressing Green button on remote.

    • Cheers, I will have a look at this when I get home.
I was actually trying to find Freeview however, could not find it under apps or searching for it.
I will see if the green button fixes it!

when you change the channel.. the options are flashed at the top of the screen. using the coloured buttons on the remote you can access freeview and other content.

not sure if that is exactly what you are looking for

        • You are correct and how Freeview is implemented from factory.

  • I have hisense and bought android tv dongle! Its great and just under $100! And has plenty apps including 7news, 9 and 10.

  • I have a 5 year old Hisense and I push the red button when I'm on a channel to access it's catch up app. So if I press red when on ABC it will open iView, if I'm on channel 10 and press red it'll open up 10Play

  • I have the same issue, upstairs, no aerial, only Wi-Fi. Spoke with Hisense and they said you have to have BOTH aerial and internet connected. I don't think there is a stand-alone app for FreeView or the channels (but they have ABC and SBS…..soooo annoying, i don't want those channels LOL. The site says "delivered via both aerial and broadband" but doesn't state that the aerial MUST be connected or won't work without it. I've been trying to see if I can sideload apps or hack/brick the TV but no luck. Stupid VIDAA system too, should have went Android TV. Would love to know if anyone was able to get these apps, or live TV working (through another app like Tubi or something)…:(
