Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro, OnePlus 8T, Vivo X50 Pro, or ...

I'm in the market for a new phone.

I'm tossing up between
Xiaomi mi 10t pro 256gb, ($700 buybuybox)
OnePlus 8t 256gb, ($750 buybuybox)
vivo X50 pro 256gb ($840 TGGC)

The Xiaomi looks to be the cheapest, but seems the best. I believe the IPS screen would be better in the sun?

The vivo has a local warranty, but more.

The onePlus seems to be a fan favourite.

I'd like something with half decent photos, good reception (mostly brizzy, gold coast, nth nsw). I'd prefer UFC 3.x to keep the phone snappy. Dual sim would be nice.

Once last question, would 6 vs 8gb ram make much difference with Android? Because I can get the sammy s20 fe 5g 128gb for ~$880. The lack of dual sim & sammy bloatware slowing it down is my concern.

Thought appreciated.

Xiaomi 11 is coming out. Looks to have good spec. Price in china is around $800 aud. I will be waiting for that

    • Yeah i looked at that, but alas my tired old pixel 2 won't charge easy and the camera stopped working, so I don't want to wait more then a few weeks.

      Cheers for the suggestion!

    • is that $800 shipped to australia?

Also, Do you need to reflash the ROM?

      • not shipped, its around $4000rmb.

you should be able to get Hong Kong version then you dont need to flash rom for google store etc

Not enough info on the site but these are likely to be chinese or indian variants without band 28 right. At least that would be the case of the 8t.

    • Well spotted thanks, i just saw b28, but now realised they listed all the variants.

I know the Xiaomi has it. Not so sure about buybuybox now, i sent them a question about shipping and haven't heard anything in 24hrs… So I'm guessing if they don't answer sales questions, warranty will be non-existent.

      Cheers

  • Thanks everyone! Sammy dropped the price of S20 FE 5g to $750 (edu + newsletter $50 discount), so idecided to grab one of those.. a proper warranty & updates make it a no brainer.

  • Interested in Xiaomi phones but how does warranty work?

1 year return to shop you bought it from
    +
    2 year warranty under ACL?

    • Well in theory 1yr return to shop. But I'd wonder how you'd actually go returning it for repairs.

ACL, I suspect not, I they're probably not really based in Oz..
