  • Anyone used these? The Android app gets 2.8 stars which is generally not a good sign. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.meross.mer…

    • ive used the homekit version, the plug itself is quite bulky.

the homekit version does not have power monitoring so cant comment on that.

but it turns on/off just fine with schedule etc, used it with xmas lights

also use their homekit garage door opener, that works just fine also

  • Anyone have these and can provide feedback?

  • Read some of the comments on the Play Store and decided against grabbing some.

  • Meross plugs are my go to when I need to "automate" something. Think I have the Gen 1 vsrsions, but these look identical.

Work with google home etc, and never had a problem with them. Only down side is their bulky size which wipes out plugs next door, but this isn't unique just to Meross..

@Tuttle thats correct even the TP link plug that I am using are bulky and takes away the space for the immediate next one.

Any possibility to use it with home assistant?

  • Kogan one is a bit cheaper, works with amazon and google assistants and home assistant.
It's based on Tuya so it can be controlled with different apps if you already have a tuya based app.
It is also possible to reflash the software on them for local control.

    I bought a pair on 26 Dec 2019 for $31.90.

I am keeping them running since then.

Not even a single device not-responding error! I use Alexa to control them, and rarely use the mobile app. I do not have exceptionally great wifi network (I have Archer VR2800). And yes, they are big. But so are the ones by TP Link.

They are hell better then my bloody premium Lifx lights.

  • I was waiting for the price on these to come down and was about to pull the trigger, however realised that TP-Link Kasa KP 115 are much slimmer (~43mm) vs 56mm on these ones. It is a deal breaker.
Will possibly pick up the tp-link ones from GGC for $22 (also available as twin packs for $44 from Bunnings). Atleast I will be able to use both power points with smart plugs plugged in.

  • I have been using these for over two years. Work very well with google home and have not had any problems at all. I use one for my coffee machine, one for a propagating heating mat and one for a grow lamp (a small one for Thai basil).
As previously said, they are bulky and don't have power consumption reporting.
