Office Reception Desk

Hi all. I'm looking to buy a front reception desk for an office and looking at something like this.

I'm wondering if there's an option of importing it direct or a local wholesaler I can go through to get either this item cheaper or something similar?

Local office furniture suppliers are quoting $4,000 for this same desk that is on eBay for $2,850.

  Surely a local carpenter/cabinet maker could knock something up similar to this for less than $4,000??

    Yeah, the eBay price of $2,850 is getting pretty close to what I could get from a carpenter.

    The markup seems extreme, I'm thinking surely wholesale is way cheaper

  I wonder if any businesses are downsizing their offices during Covid and would be selling second hand office furniture for cheap?

    I've looked into this and the only stuff I could find was in bad condition.

    I think there would be been more stuff available months ago but there's not much now

      Tried Fartbook or Scumtree?? I just put in "reception desk" into Scumtree and it came up with almost 50 listings. Surely there has to be one close to you and in good condition that is worth buying. Most of these ones are listed at between $50 and $500 and most of them look almost like brand new…

  We went through this at work in November, it was cheaper and easier to get a custom one made up locally.

  We couldnt find anything 100% to suit us either for a reasonable price.
