I Need a New TV 47 to 55 Inches (Budget $1k) - Possibly Today

Hi guys, my Plasma TV died today (I feel like a dinosaur)

I need a new one, to be picked up possibly today from the northern beaches.

I need:

Size around 46" to 50"
Good reliable brand
Needs to be smart
Budget about 1k

What's out there for grabs?

          If I left that to her, she would have bought a 4k tv.
          Where 4k refers to the cost, not the screen resolution

      Is it worth to spend more for the q60 compared to the tu8000? I can't figure out the difference..

        Much better colour, brightness on QLED screens in my experience. Personally if I'm planning to buy & use something for a number of years, I don't mind spending more $ to buy the higher-end device.

          Thanks. I found last year model q60 for 995 or this year tu8000 for 1095. Suggestions? Cheers

      I rarely buy used as I keep what I buy until it dies. Also I doubt I can get something decent for $50

        I bought a lovely Soniq 55" TV with Samsung panel for $50 just last week
        And I have bought TCL 47" TV for $40 and Skyworth 50" for $60.
        All are in top condition and with remotes

        So they are out there.
        But you probaly need time on your side as such bargains are snapped up very quickly!

    Got myself a second hand 55” Samsung 6 series for $450 from Gumtree. My decade old Bravia died a bit earlier. Planning to take the plunge on miniLed and OLeds units become mainstream later this year.

      Thanks. I already got a Q60. For this kind of stuff I'm not very keen for the second hand market.
