[NSW] How Does The Government Verify My White Card Hasn't Expired?

I believe that the card becomes void if you haven't worked on a construction site in 2 years. How can they prove this? Is there any electronic recording or capturing of this information?
Anybody can say that they worked one day on a building site with company X every 24 months and the card would remain active.

  • Good question, don't think it gets scanned. At the training they said it doesn't expire but seems not the case.

Probably only likely to be an issue when something goes wrong and one is in front of an inquest/court explaining how their card is still valid. Proof of working in the past two years might need to be provided (eg. pay slip or something like that)

Im pretty sure it dosent expire mine does not have an expiry date on it. Most of the time working safely on site falls to the companies yearly refresher courses which basically go through the same training as the white card.

    • OK. That's good to know. I hate paying money to renew cards and licenses all the time.

  • White Card Hasn't Expired

    Construction induction cards don't expire.

It's the PCBU responsibility to make sure that workers and visitors that have access to their worksite is properly inducted to the site's safety and emergency procedures.

  • They don't expire. Either does the confined space entry which is nuts
