Bargain Job/Employment (ie easy money, piece of cake work)

I'm thinking about working between friday and sunday, just 8-16 hours or so.
i have contract work during the week.. on and off.

Wondering if anyone has suggestions for some easy money (dunno, $20 an hour would be ok).
I don't mind being physical or using my brain a bit.. but i'd prefer little 'take home' stress.

Here are a few ideas I have:

Carpark attendant.
Traffic stop/go guy.
Ikea.. whatever (retail's prob not hiring right now?)
Mine site.. drive the big trucks (ok, this doesn't fit, just throwing it out there)
IT, but i'd have to study up.. so not really an option short term.
Taxi Driver for weekend only.
Airport..doing something, cleaning rental cars that come in.
labourer.. don't know how long I'd hack this, I'm fit but not that strong.
sell body to science.
sell body to whoever is holding john wayne's frozen brain.. wouldn't mind being The Duke.

let me know if you have any suggestions.

or even broad suggestions that may be of use to others.

get off your butt and find one yourself.

    try barwork.

    • Lol harsh. True though, gotta do your own legwork when it comes to job seeking. What experience have you got Stitchy? If none try a kitchen hand or a barista — there are hundreds of these opportunities on Gumtree jobs.

May not pay well though and you might get treated like dirt, depending on who your boss is.

      • kitchen hand might be ok..
thanks for the gumtree idea hadn't thought of that.

      • i have little experience.

i used to do market research many years ago but am very much over cold calling people.

(incoming call centre with casual roster may be great.. will sniff around for something like that)

Carpark attendant at Westfields. Working there as casual over Christmas. The pay is great, and you don't have to do too much.

    • cheers, something like that sounds like a decent idea.

Bottleshop attendant at like BWS. However its summer so it gets a little busy, but reasonable pay and discounts on alcomahols.

Alcomahols huh? Do they send you into a coma? Tell me more, especially where to buy some. :)

  • I heard from an Ikea employee a year ago that Ikea only pay around $14.80 and hour, no matter what job in the store you have.

    • I've got a mate who started working there more than 2 years ago and i was told pay was closer to the $20 mark

    • Not to mention $14.80/hour is now under minimum wage for someone 20 and over.

      • i did a bit of research on it today.

seems ikea(logan/slacks creek) has a levelling system.
At least 3 levels where pay keeps increasing.. and yeah i was told closer to 20 as well.

Also, they have bonus pay on sunday.
I suppose people want these shifts, so that may work against me.

        thanks for the ideas
