  I've bought a few of these cheaper USB-C adaptors to use with my MBP. The ones in plastic enclosures tend to overheat. This makes them unstable. It also impacts the performance of things like USB keyboard receivers and usb thumb drive throughput. The aluminium ones dissipate heat a lot better and so tend to work better.

    Yes, if you do not connect the usb c charger cable into this hub's aslo can use it.
    But If you use all the ports at the same time, it is recommended that you connect the charging port
