  Don't get why girls wouldn't just want regular minifigs. They probably do. These ones look bunk.

    Why wouldn't girls like minifigs that look more realistic and more like dolls?

    I totally see the appeal - Lego are tapping into the Barbie, dollhouse and Polly Pocket markets.

    Why would girls like the standard minifigures? They have no body shape, they are yellow (mostly), females have to wear long trousers or have a triangular brick to represent a long dress which then limits their posability and interaction with the Lego world.

  That is not correct. It is "4+" which is the new, misleading way of saying it is "Juniors".
  This 4+ / Juniors range has limited rebuildability, and thus limited interest to anyone that can build with standard lego bricks (which is typically anyone over 6).

  I almost bought one of these following this link, but just noticed the "4+" logo before I completed the transaction.

  Having said that… this isn't a bad price, but $30 rrp is terrible value (this range has been really overinflated recently).
