I need an accomodation (a room) in another city every couple of weeks for a couple of weeks.
It turns out cheaper to rent via arbnb for those periods rather than more long term arrangements via flatmates or gumtree as this way I am not paying for the time I am not staying in the city and am home.
I was not able to find any working codes, cashbacks, discounted giftcards or anything else similar.
Is there anything that I miss?

Not exactly cashback, but you can earn Qantas points with Airbnb bookings.

Contact the hosts and make an offer and strike a deal. Channel your business to them. Just don't mess around. If you like the place and you want them to meet a price just give them the example and price.
People hate when you give them a price then they come back for more.
This is based on airbnb forum, many hosts don't like people contacting to negotiate the price. They consider this as 'red flag'.
Many sellers of real estate don't like to negotiate especially when the buyer wants to pay less.
If you are a genuine buyer and people want to be funny about it they can have an empty room for the night. Nobody is asking anyone to do anything shady.
I think the idea is to stay under AirBNB once or twice to earn a repuation, and then contact the owner for subsequent bookings. Owner receives the same amount without the AirBnb fee.
As a former AirBNB host, I never offered a discount on a repeat booking outside the AirBNB system. The main reason is the host guarantee doesn't apply to bookings outside the system. Most guests understood this and booked through the system.
You have a referral code - so anyone who doesn't have already have an airbnb account that signs up using your code and books a stay - you will get an account credit for $90 AUD.
You can also refer a host - Invite someone that can host their entire place and earn money when they list their space and complete their first qualifying stay.
