  • It annoys me that they offer items like this so cheap, but slap you with ridiculous postage charges. If I bought 4 of them, I can't justify paying $25 postage…

On that note, last week I went to buy a simple memory card (MicroSD) for my phone and was quoted a $20 delivery charge as it contained a 'free' MP3 player that I had no choice but to pay postage for (extra $10).

Sorry if it sounds like I'm having a whinge!

    • You're not alone Oziboi…

SSq are notorious for their shipping charges, and comments like yours are aired just about every time they promote a "deal" on this site.

      Cheers,
      Live Long and Prosper.

  • Pfff, noobs get small USB drives. Real men get USB drives as big as laptops.

    • Hmmmm.

Big USB drive = small …

      .
      .
      .
      … feet?

As Shrek famously said,, do you think he might be compensating for something???

      [ :- { )

    • Real men get USB drives as big as laptops.

Yeah. Got one of that. They come in sizes from 320GB to 1TB, requires external power, heavy like a brick, and sometimes got a fan in there. Don't people just call them external hard drives? :)

With "smallest USB Flash Drive", I think I'll really worry about loosing it.

  • TechBuy is selling it for 27.5 with 8 dollars postage (still overcharged).

10 dollars postage definitely is too much for this tiny usb stick. (yes, I own one so I know the actual size of packing, it is NOT large at all)

Hence this is not really bargain.

  • Hi danilochan,

If you are not going to reply for growing concern of your shipping charges, there is no need in even posting this. Ozbargain is for bargains, not for product announements.

One good thing on your post is you put shopping square on the title which makes me automatically think this is not a bargain, despite catchy word of 2.95$.

PS: I am not voting negative here as it may remove the deal, so let him see the comments

    • Even if you vote negative the deal will still be there, but

      1. It will not be listed under "New Deals"
      2. It will not be indexable by the search engines.

Now, please DO NOT VOTE NEGATIVE because of its relatively high postage charge, because one should always factor in the postage when comparing the deals. Instead you might want to vote negative because someone else's unit cost + postage is cheaper than ShoppingSquare's unit cost + postage.

      • Thanks for the info, Scotty. I wont give negative because of postage, but for a 1GB drive, paying 13$ is ridiculas and deserve to get negative vote. Even he cant post 12.95$ for 1gb on the title and call it a deal !.

Just an exaple, Techbuy selling this same product for 12.65$ and can be collected. Or their shipping policy is:
"We will find the fastest and most efficient delivery service available to you, signature required.
Charges are automatically calculated during the checkout, this is calculated from the weight and post code being shipped to." OR 15$ upto 5kg for Australia wide Express.

If they are genuine on their price, they should ship based on weight (say 10$ for upto 500gram) - all they try is ebay style of hidden charges. See their site : http://www.apus.com.au/products.php?showProduct=18 - 1GB price at shop 15.34, online is 2.95+10$ = 12.95$ !

  • couldn't agree more as mawinmawin put it " paying 13$ is ridiculas and deserve to get negative vote"
