Can I Use My VIC Learner Permit to Check Credit Score?

Hi guys,

When applying for a credit card or checking credit score, it is usually recommended to use a driver's licence. I want to know is, will it only accept full driver licence or also accept VIC learners permit?

Thank you!

    Try it and find out.

    • ….and report back here.

      Shouldn't be a problem.

I don't think it should matter as its the same number for learners P's and full

    • Proof of age card is the same number too but Telstra and others don't accept it as ID.

  • What did they say when you asked them?

It’s a valid form of ID so it should work. Give it a go.

Do not bother checking your score.
The number has zero reflection on whether you will be approved for a credit card.
The number is simply a marketing tool used by credit checking agencies to sell your data to lenders etc and they get paid a kick back if you apply for a loan/card

Banks/Lenders use their own internal systems to determine whether they will approve you and your Learners is sufficient ID for such an application

I wouldn't say zero reflection, it probably gives you an indicator of what your credit score is like but yes banks/lenders don't use that rating. Australia != USA.
