Borders slam shut to Victoria as state plunged into five-day lockdown

What part is confusing? Read any news outlet for details.

        Wait for the memes then.

  • I didn't think Victoria had closed its border to any state?

  • +1

How long will state borders be shut? Well, any eradication state that has closed their border with Victoria will be closed for at least 2 weeks after victoria has fixed the problem, possibly a bit more after there were day 16 cases this week.

How long will state borders be shut?

      They're not shut

Tassie now shut… by Wednesday when big Dan is in panic mode, the rest will be shut.

      This thing isnt going away.

Go to the US if you're so 'sick of it'…I'm sure you'll enjoy it over there.

    • +11

Don't knock them, they have improved…

They're down to only 95,000 cases per day… and only 3,250 deaths per day !!!!

    So sick of it

    Get tested immediately.

    • -3

Positive result=punishment, no test=no punishment, smart choice is to avoid punishment.

That's right up there with "we only have a large number of cases because we're testing so much".

No Donald, you'd still have the same number of cases, you just wouldn't know about them.

People in NSW who have spent time in Victoria in the past fortnight will be forced to follow Victoria’s snap lockdown measures and stay at home for the next five days, NSW Health announced on Friday afternoon.

It comes as health authorities are racing to contact approximately 7000 people who attended venues of concern in Melbourne – including Melbourne Airport – in light of a growing coronavirus cluster in the city.

Mate just went and got flowers for his mrs

Flower shop dude has $30k of stock for Valentine's
Has paid for his permit to trade to 11pm tonight, but our council had not processed the certificate

So he will lose all stock

Told mate to go there at 10.55 and offer him $50 for it all… should be enough for one with the lot from his missus.

    • Very smart

To symbolise my love for you, I present you with a bunch of amputated thorny dead things.

        • +2

similar to a valentines day card with max budget of $2 lol

    • Huh?? Last I read of this it was only if they travelled to hotspot areas in Victoria.

  • Can some of the restaurants have some brains and liquidate at sites like this . Plenty of people want food bargains :)
Didn't see many last time do it .

    • +2

Good idea, bait 1000's of people from all over the state to pick up cheap food from a small business which has zero logistics to handle crowds.

    • +3

Just donate it all to food bank

Nsw will keep it open cos they dont care much about protecting their citizens, only big business and house prices

I'm actually pissed off that Gladys was pressured by the other (profanity) premiers into forcing us to wear masks in public at Christmas, when we had lasted the whole of last year fine without them.

  • Check the government website…..they usually have up to date info.

  • I remember Dan saying:
"I don't want to be offensive to South Australians but why would you want to go there?"
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews takes swipe at South Australia over border reopening

    Uh, because Lockdown #1, #2, #3…

Don't you think Dan is sick of this crap as well?
If all the zops out there wore their masks and washed their frigging hands it will help.
If Mr nebuliser from Holiday Inn didn't use his machine illegally, we wouldn't be in this pickle again.
Nebulisers are banned in hotels during quarantine.
It's always one or a few d*ckhe#ds that spoil it for everyone.

All state premiers are total (profanity) when it comes to COVID.

They need to realise that having absolutely zero cases is NOT the point of the game. They need to happy accepting some level of risk. The outcomes are supposed to be balanced. We can allow some cases, just as long as they don't result in deaths.

The crap on the news. Sydney shutdown over Christmas for nothing. Victoria shutdowns now because of single digit daily cases. (profanity) in NSW kept demanding more tests ( up to 20000/day - even though nothing was found with the first 9000 tests, to give them 'more confidence' ). Pollies need to grow some balls. You can't have 99.99999% surety there are no cases, and even if you could, the trade off in terms of lost GDP from disruption is enormous.

  • The Vic lockdown will be 2 weeks.
